I currently have 40% off for Halloween at the Yacht Club (2 adults). We went all out for this with park hoppers and water park tix and deluxe dining. 10/28-11/2 -- total $2867.98

We were thinking of doing the same number of nights at the beginning of October with the free dining code. But if the discount is only for free dining I don't think it will be worth it.

Last Christmas we had free dining but it saved us over $1,000, so I know it must have been free dining plus some room discount.

What do you guys think? Anyone that used the code crunch the numbers and find that it was slightly better than just free dining? :confused:f

Thanks fellow DISers! :goodvibes

just go on disneyworld.com and price the package without dining and compare it to the 40% off. Normally with the deluxe hotels the 40% off is the better deal

Thank you for the above responses!

The 40% off is saving between $500-600. But the reason for my question is that for our Christmas trip we were deluxe (WL) and saved over $1000 with free dining Visa code.

I priced the differences online (and the 40% off is looking more attractive), but I guess I'm wondering what people are ACTUALLY saving?

The other thing you need to consider with the 40% off is that you will still need to pay for food on top of that. With the free dining, true, you are paying more for the room, but you are not paying any additional expense for food.

For us with the room discount code at the Poly I figured we'd save approx. $120 to $140 a day- and with the free dining we save only $100 a day.But the difference is that with the room discount we need to pay for all our food. There is no way we could eat at one TS, one CS and snack for four people for $40.

Just fyi, which you probably already know, if you do the delux add on for the free dining period it would be around $32 a person.

Our savings with the 40% off code, staying at the Poly 11 nights, will be $1757.25.

If we were doing the free dining, (there are 3 of us, two adults, and my daughter will be 10 by then) the savings would be $1055.67.

So, we are definitely sticking with the 40% off.

The price I quoted in my first post included the deluxe dining plan. I know the 40% off code is only for the room portion of our vacation, but after going deluxe dining in December I won't ever go back (as long as we can still afford it). :goodvibes

Has anyone booked FD with a deluxe resort?

Last December, they released an unprecedented free dining and room code, I think. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong!) That is probably why you saved more!
