So I booked under the free dining code for Aug 28th-Sept 3. The only issue is that we are driving and my kids go back to school on the day after we get home plus we would be driving home with Labor Day traffic. I really wanted the week before so we could take our time driving home.

we got the cabins with 7 day hopper days with free dining for $3196.32

I can get the cabins for around $1700 and a tickets from undercover tourists for around $1189 for the 4 of us for a total of around $2889

Its only a savings of $307 and we will definitely spend more than that on food for the week. It would be worth it if I had a room only code and we would deal with paying for food because we would've have to deal with the traffic coming home...

any suggestions??

I'm going to say traffic is worth it, don't know how it will be once you get closer to home but assuming you go up 95 we have never hit traffic bad enough (we get off in virginia) to think a trip isn't worth it. LD week is our usual week we either go down that weekend or come back on LD. We also have drown down in pre and post hurricaine (including post Katrina, there is no gas in GA or FL fiasco) traffic thru GA and FL wall to wall bumper to bumper traffic for hundreds of miles and didn't think that was too much traffic. It would have to be really really bad traffic to forego a deal on my disney trip.

thanks guys! I am just worried the traffic is going to be horrible because of Labor Day weekend and that would make hubby miserable would be make me miserable. Plus we were going stop and visit relatives on the way home but the kids start school on Tues...wish I could just find a room code and I would just book for the week before!

We drove home up I 95 two years ago on Labor Day and the traffic was bad. Last year we left the day before (Sunday) and the traffic was much lighter.

Please correct me if I am wrong (and I know someone will - do it nicely please) but to get free dining don't you have to buy a 2 day base ticket as part of a package.

You are correct. The OP was pricing both the FD deal for his week with traffic and an al la carte package on other dates to avoid traffic.

yes, if traffic would be too bad, we would go a week earlier and forget FD and buy everything separate.
