FCC-Sailing with someone who doesn’t have credit

I tried searching through the previous FCC questions and didn’t see the answer (but please excuse me if I just missed it).

Like many, I have a FCC and plan to use it on the Wish next September. A friend who doesn’t have a credit is coming along with me. I know the credit cannot be used for their fare, and the leftover beyond my fare will be onboard credit. Would that credit only apply to me, or to the room? For example, can I use it to cover their share of the gratuities, purchases, adult dining? (I figure at least for purchases I can check-out with my KTTW card and she can pay me back, but would that also work for Palo or potential spa bookings?) Also, we will have other friends on board who don’t have credits, can I cover them for Palo, or does it go back to their specific rooms? Thanks!

I think no one is answering because no one knows for certain. I believe you would have to set up charging on you room so that you both share ONE form of payment. If your friend wanted to attach her own CC to her KTTWC then no it wouldn't work, but if you add her to your payment method then yes. At least... that is my assumption and I may be wrong.

We'll know once people start sailing that have the credit on their accounts.

I’m thinking the money on the account will be hard to trace. So people will be able to use it as they please. And I say that only because I’ve had a very hard time getting traces on money from my onboard account a few times. Calls back to the “mainland” money for me had been found almost 3-4 months later applied to gift cards instead of my debit card.
Once they threatened to cancel and on board future cruise reservation because they tried to apply to a Disney gift card I used to pay for an adventure on my account instead of the debit card(I like to pay cash) and accusing me of fraud and claimed that the bank declined me 3x! My bank assured me funds were there and Disney never even asked for funds. I have never had Disney rude to me but they said I was trying to get away something so I offered to group chat with the bank to show they had never contacted the bank and have the funds sent but she would not allow me to add the bank to the call. Somehow they stopped trying to put it on the gift card and eventually everything on the debit card. But it was so stressful and soooo many phone calls.
So they really can’t track that stuff on the customer service levels. Now I bring $1000 on a new gift card and hand it to the on board reservation person. And keep that until it all clears and use the balance when I set a cruise date to be sure it is paid.

Oh an update-I reached out to DCL directly and finally heard back! The credit would be applied to the room and would be used by anyone charging purchases to the room. Will be helpful for our Alaska cruise since it will be port adventure heavy!

That’s what I anticipated. So hard to see where the money applied from land is from once onboard. We paid Disney Cruise Line for a hotel as part of our cruise package and since the hotel room had been given away we asked if they would apply it to our on board account when the office opened in the morning. They said they would, but actually refunded it to gift cards instead.
