FB on Iphone Question

OK this has been bugging me for awhile. When I open up FB on my iPhone and go to "home" I don't always get all the new posts because when I get home from work and look at FB on my mac there are lots I have missed. How do I fix this?

Also when on the home page just under the news feed/notifications tabs there are choices like Top stories, status updates, etc.. This slides over to all my different friends groups which I love but why do all the food and game notifications show up (I never accept any of these as many carry trojans, etc.) and I am not taking chances). How can I make those go away permanently??

On the home page when you are on News feed, scroll over to Live Feed. I believe that will show all new entries. I used to have to do this on my computer too, before the newest version of facebook. Maybe facebook for iPhone is still running the old facebook version.

I don't know about the rest.
