Is this still good to do? Does anyone still do this, and if so anyone have the GF room assignor number?

Thank you!

I thought I read some place on the Boards that this was not the best option now. I am also curious.

The last three trips I took to Disney, I've simply placed my requests with my reservation. I don't know that faxing is any more or less effective than simply putting your request in with your reservation.

My requests, ground floor, corner room if possible.

And everytime, I've received my request. I fully expect my next trip in 10 days will break that streak. C'est la vie.

My friends say I have ".. horseshoes for feet!" ;)

We have had really good luck just requesting a building during the reservation. We also take an early flight and check in around 12-1 PM. We have always received the building and floor we requested during the booking at the Poly. I must be in the Tahiti building when I stay here.

Its really a nail biter hoping you get your request and I have read alot about people faxing special room requests. I think it really frustrates the room assignor and I do not blame them-people can be really picky even down to the room number and location.

The best bet is to make the note during your booking. I would not want to be the fax that makes the room assignor mad that day-if you know what I mean. You may get a bad room lol.

You do not always get the location you wanted, the resort can only please so many people. Some are going to be unhappy and if you are really unhappy voice your opinion to a supervisor, but remember room requests are not guaranteed. Good luck and have a great time :)

We have always faxed the room request prior to arrival and have gotten our request each time in the end. Maybe it helped, maybe not, but it didn't hurt anything. There have been a few times when we were given an undesireable location, but asked to switch and they were able to accomodate. If nothing else, the person that recieves it will trash it and the only thing lost will be your time in sending it.
I've heard claim that the assigners are vindictive and purposely give faxers poorer rooms. Hogwash...what would they have to gain by purposely displeasing a guest.
Honestly, who knows what difference it makes in the end. Do what puts your mind at ease.

I have never faxed a request in..not in close to 15 trips. I make any requests when I book the room, and let it go at that. I usually have one or two requests. I used to always request a non-smoking room. Then depending on which resort I was at...a higher floor, or a particular building. Only one time did I get none of my requests..that was at POP. I asked for a room, higher floor, facing the lake. This would not have been a preferred room. I was given a room on the ground level, facing towards a parking lot, with the lake off to the right. The room was fine.
I have heard on several occasions that the room assigners are just tossing the faxes out. They were inundated with them and couldn't honor them for the most part. So, CM's have been suggesting we just make the requests at booking time and then again when you checkin.

I just wanted to request a room in Conch Key at the GF..I booked a MK view, but I want to request a castle view....and not one where I have to crane my neck to see it. :)
