Faxing a Request when I booked Initially with AAA

We're staying at the CR from Aug 2-7 and we put in a request for a king size bed in our room instead of two doubles... she said she requested it but my package doesn't list any information that the request existed. It has every other little detail on the pages, except the king request. Should I fax the request to the resort or what? I'd be highly disappointed if we didn't get a king size bed.

I can't see what the harm would be in trying to contact the resort and letting them know that you put in a request with your AAA agent but don't see the request on your reservation, so you just want to double check.
We just put in a request this morning with our AAA agent for a specific building in Poly, but we are leaving in 19 days and I am not sure that will be enough time. I was thinking I will call the resort on Monday myself and see what they say. What could be the harm?:confused3

AAA packages never show the request. My requests have (so far) always been met even though none of the paperwork states that request.

Putting in your requests is the job of the TA. Call your TA and have them take care of the details. That's what they get paid for.

You can fax the resort as a followup, just keep in mind that due the overwhelming number of faxes that they now receive, they don't have time to look at them all. In regards to calling the resort, Disney uses a call center and you may actually end up speaking with someone in Utah. About all they'll do is pull up the reservation and verify that it does indeed show your request.

Unfortunately, no matter how many times or how many ways you ask, it is only a request and no guarantee in standard rooms. I would suggest asking at check-in though. One may not be available immediately, due to a late guest check-out or housekeeping hasn't had an opportunity to clean it yet. They can still assign it to you though and you'll just have to call the number provided to see when it's ready for occupation.

I had the same question about my CAA (the Canadian equivalent to AAA) and my request for a trundle bed room. It was not listed on the CAA papers. I called my CAA agent and she called Disney to verify that it was indeed requested.

Yup and not to mention, that if you book through a TA, they're the only ones authorized by Disney to make changes to the reservation.

I plan to fax in a request for my visit. Whether it's read or not I at least know I sent one, makes me feel better. :lmao:

Not only that - but the Travel Agent "owns" your reservation; Disney won't even discuss it with you until it's downloaded into their system, a few days before you arrive.

Interesting, thanks for the tip, I booked with AAA for the FIRST time for my Aug trip! Had to call THEM to schedule ME! :headache: Don't think I will do that again, I like dealing with just Disney!

Your request should be shown on your final papers. I just booked with AAA in April and requested connecting rooms in ASMu. I also faxed. I did not get the connecting rooms which I know wasn't guaranteed but we told them in January but...whatever. Just remember you don't always get what you request unless it is something you can pay for-like preferred rooms. I saved about $300 with AAA but it is true they own your reservations and room and Disney won't help you with much concerning reservations.

Note that it's not just an AAA thing. Ownership of any reservation 'belongs' to the entity which arranged it: Orbitz, Dreams Unlimited, AAA, ourselves... (examples only)
