Has anyone had luck recently with faxing a room request or having Touring Plans send a fax?

My understanding is that faxes are no longer looked at at some, if not all of the resorts. I know that for DVC, Member Services has said more than once that they do not even read faxed requests. Touring Plans apparently now emails the resorts instead of using fax. It would make sense then that the resorts are unlikely to accept faxes - but each resort is operated slightly differently, so mileage may vary.

The preferred method of making requests is to have it noted on your room reservation.

That makes sense, but looking at my reservations online there aren't nearly as many options or places to list a request anymore. IIRC my only option was "ground floor" or "near elevator" - no matter which resort I booked at. I remember when we would go 5-7 years ago, there were a few check-box options and a free-response box to list preferences. How does one go about getting a request noted in the room reservation if there isn't a space to note the request?

Call. They can add any requests you want.
Long wait times in recent months though. They are there 7am-11pm eastern time, so maybe try first thing in the morning...

Call is the best option. I have also read other threads on this topic that indicates they no longer accept fax, but none of us work at Disney. Fax would seem to be a clumsy way to do this, error-prone, required info might be missing, etc. besides the added time/labor to deal with inputting them. I doubt the way you do a room request has anything to do with your success rate. However, using a method they don't accept will likely result in 0% chance of success.

Cannot speak for other people, but in the past we have had very good luck calling and following up with a fax. Plus, what does it hurt.

Call in your request or make your request through touring plans.
It doesn’t really matter how you make your request.
As long as they get your request, they’ll try to honour it if they can.
