Fax Request?

We are leaving a week from Saturday bounce for All-star Music (3 nights) and Animal Kingdom Lodge for 3 nights). I have read where some people fax there requests to the Resort itself. Does anyone suggest I do this? Has anyone done it and had success in getting what you wanted?
Our only request would be to have a non-smoking room and a king size bed. It's just the 2 of us (DH and me) and having a king size bed would be such a romantic treat for us.
So if anyone thinks I should fax the request please let me know what they did. I know there is a site that has the numbers for the different resort's fax numbers but I don't remember where I saw it. Could someone let me know that?

Hi Beth:
We just returned from AKL, and we did fax a room request three days before our arrival. This is the number we used: Fax - 407-938-4799.
You should have no problem getting your very reasonable requests. We had a few more than you have, and got all of them.
I hope you have a wonderful time. The AKL is fantastic.

One more thing... AKL was decked out for Christmas during our visit. One night the tree wasn't there... the next morning it was. It's really beautiful.

The fax number for ASMu is (407) 939-7222 - it's definately worth faxing as you've nothing to lose.

Check out this page on Deb Will's site. It has some useful info and at the bottom it gives an example fax of what you should write.
