When faxing a room request, do most of you include a cover sheet or just send the document by itself?

We just send the letter. We usually only make about 3 requests with one of them being nonsmoking, and we've always been very happy with our room.

I actually went ahead and faxed my room request yesterday to ASMu and plan on doing it again a few days before we leave. Does that make sense?

Also, I called ASMu directly for the fax number and they gave me the wrong one! Of course, DU's website had the right number... I should have known!

I doubt that the one you faxed yesterday will do much good. The resorts don't receive the reservations until about 5 days before your arrival so they, for lack of better words, really don't know you exist yet. I would re fax it 4 days prior to arrival after 3pm. Not sure why after 3pm but a room assigner at WL told me this so I take heed of it.

This will be my first time faxing in a request - I've always been happy with the rooms we've been given, however, this time, since there are going to be 3 generations in one room, a day bed is essential... not something I should leave up to chance, right?

If I work off the "fax the request 4 days prior to check in"... does that work for faxing in the request on a Saturday or Sunday?

I just followed the suggestions set out on Deb's site (http://www.wdwig.com/cro1.htm) and had all of my requests granted at CBR. I didn't include a cover sheet, I didn't think it was necessary. Good luck with your requests :)

Great thread. After getting two of the worst rooms this past trip, I'll never go to WDW again without faxing a room request.

Virgo10 - Just remember that it is only a request. They don't guarantee anything, but it sure doesn't hurt to try.
