Favourite onsite hotel

If money was no object I'd stay at the Poly. I also really like WL, but you can't beat being on the monorail. In terms of moderates, I love Coronado Springs - the rooms definitely seem like a cut above the rest and it's so peaceful. For DVC, my favourite is Bay Lake Tower (but I'm a bit biased because that's my home resort). I've always though the Yacht and Beach Club and Boardwalk are nice resorts - lots to do in the vicinity and good transport options, but I've never stayed at either (yet). It's a nice position to be in having a choice of so many - I'm sure you'll enjoy whichever you pick as of the resorts I've stayed in on property, there's not be one that I don't like. :)

We love SSR too, especially around The paddock area as it has a great pool (lots going on but not as busy as the main pool). And has a bar serving food. Transport is close by and we found it was all really quick - even home from MK in the evenings which has been a nightmare at some resorts.

I do also love the whole boardwalk area and have stayed at the Yacht club, boardwalk and beach club villas. The best part of those hotels is the location, walk able to Epcot and the studios or a short boat ride. The boardwalk area is good at night too - lots of choices for dining and bars etc. Fantasia mini golf is in walking distance too. I'm not a fan of the main pool at he boardwalk but the quiet pool is never busy and has the community centre ( with video games, DVDs etc) and a BBQ next to it. pool at the YC/BC resort is brilliant.

BLT is a lovely resort and ideal for walking to MK but the main food court and transport to other parks is in the contemporary which I didn't like. it does have beautiful views though.

We are DVC members so usually stay at those resorts, however we have stayed in both PO resorts too. Both were beautiful! Lovely decent sized rooms, lots of quiet pools around and great food courts!

I have stayed at Pop, CSR, POFQ and SSR. I can honestly say that I loved them all! If money was no object though, I'd stay at the Poly. This year we're at WL-after two consecutive years at SSR, it's definitely going to be a different experience but we're really looking forward to it!

Stayed at

CBR-Great resort, quiet.Spread out though, you could be miles away from the food court.I would stay there again though.

ASSR-Me and DH stayed here pre kids.It was good. It served the purpose well.

POP-If i was staying budget this would be the place.Kids loved the theming,we've just outgrown the rooms now,but was perfect for us when they were small.

BC/YC- This is where my heart belongs.5 minutes walk to EPCOT, 20 minute walk or 10 minute boat ride to HS.You have some fab restaurants so close. Its lovely walking around the Boardwalk in the evening and watching the fireworks on the beach. Stormalong Bay is also IMO the best resort pool.

I would love to stay at CR, MK view one day though:thumbsup2

my heads spinning reading all this:rotfl2: and TBH I think it is a very personal thing. Everyone has there own likes and dislikes.OKW and SSR are the best deal if they have their discounts and if 4 of you I would definatly have the one bedroom villa.More money but not as expensive as say the boardwalk/poly. Loads of room in OKW which is also a DVC resort as is SSR. As you have a 5 year old theming will probably be important but po and Art of animation are more of the value range though the one bedrooms look nice though I dont think they do free DDP there.
As I own at Wilderness lodge I will be biast but OKW and AKL are best for space room wise.
Good luck chooosing its a hard choice.;)

Thanks again.

Thanks again.

We are now down to the Poly or the Yacht club.....

Still struggling to make a decision! There is only £300 of a difference.

For £300 I'd do the Poly no question. The monorail wins out for me every time both for the ease of getting to MK and EPCOT and also the number of resort restaurants within easy reach. Don't get me wrong, I love the Y&BC/ Boardwalk area and that has some good eating options too (as well as having world showcase on the doorstep) but for restaurants for kids (assuming you're going to be eating onsite) there's more restaurants suited to children in the monorail resorts.

One thing to consider is that I've always found Y&BC to seem more laid back than the Poly - at the Poly there's a great atmosphere but it's always quite busy in the common areas. If your family would prefer a quieter atmosphere then I'd be tempted to pick YC. Having said that, the Poly beach is a great place to relax and I've never found it to be crowded. Of course the Poly beach is a great place to watch Wishes too :)

I guess it now really comes down to personal choice and I hope you have a great time whichever resort you choose :)
