favourite gated resorts near wdw

we have stayed at emerald island a few times and really liked it, but i was thinking maybe we should try somewhere else.

where have you stayed, what's your suggestions?

well the two that I am mentioning I only stay at because they allow pets

otherwise they aren't that good.

Westgate Villa and Celebration world resort - both have gates

that say CWR only has a person in attendance - during certain times - like when everyone is coming back from the parks - or when everyone is checking in....

that say there are several housing developments that have the gates that are around that area.

Well this year we are staying at Emerald Island - so glad to hear it is a good resort.

We have stayed at Windsor Palms in a villa with pool - we didn't use the resort pool but the community is nicely kept. We have also stayed at Windsor Hills a few times in a TH with splash pool - the community pool area is very nice and it is a short drive to WDW from there.

we were originally booked for windsor palms earlier this year, but got cancelled, so we changed to emerald island.

was thinking of perhaps windsor hills,looking for ideas really.

We are going first to CSR on the 11th December, then check into Emerald Island on the 22nd. Originally we were staying at WH in a TH that I would gladly have recommended but the owner sold it earlier this year I also liked the look of Encantada.

We like Bahama Bay. Large condos, nice pools and landscaping. It's semi-gated as late at night the front gate appeared to be open and unattended.

It is a newer resort, close to Disney just west of Windsor Hills. The resort facilities are even nicer than Windsor Hills and they have 4 and 5 bath townhomes with splash pools, plus a huge resort pool with water slide/waterfall/splash park. Its "very high end and upscale" so I am excited to see it. We have stayed at a few disappointing townhomes/resorts in Orlando over the years and this is the most excited I have been, now that the kids are too old for Marriott Harbour Lake. It is also gated/(wo)manned 24/7.

We're also staying at EI for the first time checking in on the 20th. Glad to hear it's nice!!

We love Marriott's Grande Vista. This is condos with full kitchens, washer and dryer, balcony, several pools, lots of activities. It is gated, so you feel very safe. It is on I Drive, near Sea World, not in the busy section of I Drive. It is far enough off the street that you don't hear any traffic. It is a very easy drive to any of the Disney parks.

Bonnet Creek and Sheraton Vistana, can't beat the value.

From what I could tell the prices at Paradise Palms were about the same as Windsor Hills, but this is a newer development. It looks really nice and swanky, we will see! I will let you know.

Bonnet Creek. Stayed there 4 times. Inside of WDW ......all kinds of activities. Good value for the $$.
