Favourite Christmas grub

oh and TRIFLE!

last year me and bethuk made a Jamie Oliver recipie... yum yum yum! it was really "old school" trifle... with two layers of jelly... mandarin segments, rasberries, cheap sponge, blamanche, angel delight, whipped cream and covered in hundreds and thousands and chocolate flakes!

Jamie Oliver should be ashamed of himself, REAL trifle has no jelly, it should be plain sponge cake pieces liberally smothered with home-made or Tiptree strawberry jam, saturated with top quality sherry, custard flavoured with vanilla and mountains of whipped cream. Jamies' recipe sounds wonderful too though!

I love mince pies with ice cream and also those hovis crackers with LOTS of garlic cheese on top, yum!!

lol... it was like trifle you loved as a kid! made with all those cheap ingredients you avoid as an adult but taste soooooooooooo good...

and i don't like food with alcohol in it anyways...
