I am trying to get some ideas of what to do for favors for our guests. What did everyone else give out at their wedding?

I will be giving out purple lanyards I bought off oriental trading with 2 pins attached. I bought the Pins off ebay in Bulk. There will be a plastic ID card attached to the lanyard that has a card in it that says something like.

I am here for Teresa and Greg's wedding. 7/1/12 and then on the back it will explain what pin trading is.

These will be placed in little black chinese food take out boxes that have the star wars imperial logo attached to it.

We did a welcome bag with some DIY things in it, a little teacup votive holder and tea and coffee bags with our name and wedding date on it and candy. We dustibutes those ahead of time and at the wedding we had decorative and yummy cookies at each place setting.

We are doing Mickey ears (the traditional ones) with everyones name embroidered on the back... Haven't decided if we will just use those for place cards yet. If we use place cards too then they will also get the place card holder.

I think I'll use the ears too, I'm not sure if I'd put their name or the date we got married though x

I gave out Godiva chocolates. Each box was off-white with a ribbon, and the chocolate was shaped like a wedding cake. It was milk chocolate and filled with dark chocolate ganache. The planner put them all on a silver tray and presented them to each guest to make sure they all received one. The boxes were so pretty that no one wanted to open them, they made one guest open his so they could all see what was inside.

We had a photobooth at our wedding so the pics from that were a favor along with a picture holder to go with it

I didn't do favours. It was a way to save money as I can't think of any wedding I've been to where I can remember what the favour was and/or use/eat it :confused3

No one noticed either

I plan on making fabric covered photo albums for each family that comes, along with some other small things in a gift bag.

My Mom used her Cricut and made boxes in our wedding colors. As we get closer to the wedding day I am going to use ice cube trays to make chocolates in the shapes of R2D2 and a Mickey Vinylmation.

I'm not really doing favors my save the dates are an object that can be reused, my invites also have an item attached and Im doing oot bags and thank you cards that will have an item attached.

Not to sound the least bit ungrateful but I've never received a wedding favor that I've kept or really wanted. I"m not a tchotchkes kinda person I don't collect small objects. With my upcoming wedding I'm trying to make what I give not necessarily something of immense monetary value but items that will hold memories or be useful. Since I'm doing a cruise wedding my actual decorations will be minimal beyond flowers.

I do like seeing what everyone else comes up with much of which is very original and beautiful. I do believe there was a diy or craft bridal thread that may have some useful ideas.

We are either going to give each person a Vinylmation, or just do donations to charities.

If we do the Vinylmations, we are going to create our own "trading box" where our guests can trade thier vinylmations and get a feeling of how the trading works in the actual stores. Vinylmations are a big thing for my DF & I because we both collect them, and my DF proposed to me with a custom made vinylmation that he made himself that said "Marry me" on it!

Charities seem to be a big thing nowadays, and they go to a great cause. If we do charity donations it'll be for a cancer foundation (because my grandfather died of lung cancer, and DF's grandfather is a 2 time cancer survivor!) and probably also to ASPCA (or other animal foundation) because we LOVE animals! There are so many different charities out there that you could find something that actually represents you both as a couple and the things that you care about, and are important to you.

Either way, good luck!

For my Disney wedding, we had a Christmas theme, so I did personalized ornaments for favors that doubled as place cards. They had tags with tables/names and I hung them on a Christmas tree outside of the reception hall.

I also own a custom cookie business and I do a lot of weddings and cookie favors:

sweetloraine.com and etsy.com/shop/SweetLoraineCookies

I can even do Disney-themed cookies, if you'd like. I have a variety of packaging options and we can match everything to your theme/colors.

Feel free to contact me if you're interested at SweetLoraineCookies@gmail.com

I LOVE the idea of the ornament.. and it's so great that you used it for your place cards as well.. talk about double-duty! ;) And I absolutely ADORE the fact that you had them hanging on a christmas tree! If I was doing a December wedding, I'd totally steal this idea!

We are also giving out pins. 4 per person and they will be attached to a card that says:

Here are four pins
They are our way to say
Thank you for being here
On our Special Day!

If you want you can keep them.
It's really up to you!
But you can switch them, or trade them
For different ones too!

They will be placed at each place setting. The pins were less than a dollar each by buying bulk on ebay and the cards I designed myself using one of the motifs from our invitations.
