Several come to mind........
Though very 'Hollywoodish', Audie Murphy's (and not because of his name) biographical,
To Hell and Back. Also
Von Ryan's Express, Sink the Bismarck, From Here to Eternity, The Memphis Belle. Also, made during the war, somewhat slanted with propoganda (and fine with me, BTW)
Guadalcanal Diary, Objective, Burma, Fighting Sullivans. There are many good ones. And certainly, the classic cast of thousands,
The Longest Day.
I have always enjoyed war movies, more the 'cleaned up' ones, not the brutal reality of war with all its horrors, like
Saving Private Ryan, though I did see that too. Just a lot for the human mind to absorb, which is the way it is with me today and most 'realistic' movies, too much. I like the more 'sanitized' ones, just me.
And cool, I inspired a thread.

(If I am the Dan M spoken of above). And, BTW, I did not fight in the Big War, only was born during it, and the latter part of it too.

Yet a bit too early to be a Baby Boomer, but rather a War Baby.
