Favorite Value Resort??

Please vote!!! Planning a trip for next summer, and love the Values, so trying to get inputs on your favorites!! If you would like to give an explaination as to why you like that one, feel free, if not, thats fine too!! Thanks!!

I love movies, because of the "movies" theme! We have two kids and we have grown up with Disney movies. We stayed at the Buzz Lightyear bldg. and I felt like I was living at Disney seeing the enourmous figures. It is the only resort that makes me feel htis way.

The food court was peppy and fun, too!!

I voted for Movies - we have stayed there twice & we really loved it! I loved the theming with the giant movie icons - Buzz & Woody, the Dalmatians, etc. The transportation was wonderful, the pool was a lot of fun & the foodcourt was good & very convenient. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again in the future - the Music & Sports theming don't interest me - I like the Disney character icons more than a giant football or guitar icon. My SIL stayed at the Music & didn't seem to enjoy it as much as we enjoyed Movies.

We will be staying at POP for the 1st time in Sept, so I might have a new favorite after that! We're really looking forward to our trip - my MIL stayed at POP in April & really loved it - & they weren't expecting to like it - it was a last minute trip & all that was available for them. HTH!

I voted for Pop have stayed two times March and May enjoyed both stays...bus service was good...resort is new and very clean...food court had better offerings then the other values.

We really loved the All Star Movies. We are planning a trip to POP in December since it is the newest of the values, so we may change our mind.

I voted for Music, as it was our first on-site. We have stayed at Movies but didn't find it as serene & appealing as Music.

The gas lit lamps through the Jazz section and the changing colored neon was just soothing.

Disney did a really nice job on the Pop. I voted for the Pop for sure.

We have stayed at All Star Music twice and Pop Century once. Our favorite is Pop Century, though we had great trips at All Star Music as well. We like the theming at Pop Century better (it's fun to look at all the shadow boxes of memorabilia from the different decades they have on display in the lobby, walk through the resort to look at the different buildings, and walk on the walking path where they have signs with neat little facts about the different decades), the food court had a wider variety of foods we like (we are very picky eaters, LOL), and the room had a few tiny improved details that were nice (like the curtains run on overlapping tracks so you can block out light from coming in between the curtains and they didn't put the shampoo dispensers in the showers). Also, for now Pop Century has its own bus and doesn't make several bus stops like the busses at All Star Music. Overall, we just like the atmosphere at Pop better, but it's just a matter of opinion.

I think you should take a vote among your group. What are your ages that are going? I think they are all nice. Maybe left the biggest complainer pick-I know that sounds bad, but it has always worked for our group.

There are good points about both of my favorites - All-star music because it seemed quieter and less crowded, and Pop Century because of the bus service (it was great). I did vote for Pop Century but it was almost too close to call. I wasn't crazy about Movies because it was crowded and there were a lot more children. (not a bad thing, just happened to be on an adult vacation).

That's what I voted for, but to be honest, I've never stayed at Pop. I would like to try it, and we are going to WDW is Sept, but DH likes what he knows, and doesn't want to fix what isn't broken. Translation, we are going back to AS Movies, or whichever of the values we can get an AP discount at. Maybe I will be surprised, and only the Pop will be avail at a discount.... I'm not holding my breath, since it's the newest one.

I voted for POP for the following reasons:

It's new

No sharing buses

It has a lake

You can rent surrey bikes

You can see Illuminations and Wishes from the resort

Great selections in the food court

Jumping water fountain

3 pools (I think there's only 3)

When we were there in April, my son and I were walking back to our room (70s building) when we noticed the fireworks. I don't remember what time it was, so I'm not sure which fireworks it was.

I've read post here from DISers that have been able to see them from the 50s building.

Here a trip from mouseplanet. This family was able to seem them from outside of their room.
