What has been your favorite family vacation besides Disney? And why?

Camping at Papoose Pond in Maine. Nothing to do but relax. Yes, there's activities, and we do play pool and go boating/fishing. But for me, it's the relaxation, scent of the campfires in the morning and having a cup of tea listening to the birds around the campsite.

Ooohh, I have several!!
Hawaii
Grand Cayman
Caribbean Cruises
San Diego
Hilton Head

Hopefully we will be adding some European destinations to the list in a couple of years after the pandemic has been better controlled, as well as Australia, Maldives, & Tahiti or Bora Bora

New Orleans. There is so much to do/see and the food........

But, I have been to the Caribbean many times cruising and enjoy "most" of the islands.

Hawaii - it doesn't matter what island, it's amazing.
Puerto Rico - want to go back!
Spain - We stayed in Marbella and took a few day trips to Gibraltar and Morocco.
England - would like to see more of London next time.
Boston and Washington DC because DH is a history teacher and I also love history.

Myrtle beach (we go every summer) and Europe (every other year) we have family in France and they take vacation when we visit and we all go together to a different European destination each trip. Last time was exploring all the towns in the Alps, next year were going to Greece!
I live in Myrtle Beach and I always wonder why anyone would want to come here? lol I guess when the Pavilion was here but now it's just junky.

For me it's Paris! I've gone twice now and a few of my friends that haven't gone are planning a trip once things open back up. I refuse to do Paris in a mask so it may be a while and it's annoying not to be able to set something in stone because we're all so excited.

In Paris we love to try to live like a local and stay a little away from the most touristy areas in more of a neighborhoody feeling section with no real plans. Walking around and running into whatever we run into. Our first night there we saw people going into this big gothic looking old church so we decided to step in and it was stunning! They were having church service and doing communion so we joined the line. When we both got back to our seats we had tears in our eyes because it just felt so moving to be where we were. Neither my best friend nor I had ever been to Europe before.

I really like Costa Rica. Beaches are clean and the rain forest is wonderful.

I embarrassed my wife. We were at a little restaurant where she wanted chicken breast but nobody spoke English. We went back and forth and I finally made a gesture around my chest and said “Breasts!” The guy gave me a big smile and said “oh!” with two thumbs up. My wife was embarrassed but I told her, “You’re getting your chicken, aren’t you?”

My cousins who live in a suburb of Paris (called etampes) also wonder why anyone would want to visit Paris. I guess everyone feels like that about their hometowns. We always stay at a beach house at pawleys island named “the big kahuna”. It’s a beautiful huge house on the beach in a gated community that’s anything but junky. I’ve been coming here since I was little and I love it.

We did a Disney cruise to Alaska - does that count as non-disney since it's not a park? The cruise itself was awesome with tons of stuff for the kids to do. The inside passage was gorgeous, I wish I wouldve got a room with a balcony. We had a blast on the shore excursions, especially the summer dog sled one where they pulled us around in a wheeled cart and we got to cuddle puppies.

Completely non-disney would have to be a road trip around AZ and UT focusing on national parks with a stop in Vegas on the way home. That was just with my oldest, my youngest hadn't come along yet.
