We are very excited to be making our 1st trip to our "home" at BWV and are looking for tips of what not to miss for our 1st trip. What do you love to do the most at the BW?

FYI: Our party consists of 2 adults, a 4 yr old, 11 mo. old, and an 18 yr old babysitter tagging along to help! :)

You'll have a great time at the BW. Your four year old will have fun at the Community hall. Our four year old loves it there. This past trip, she was able to fingerpaint, do all sorts of other crafts, play free video games, and free video rentals for members. Last year, they had a swim up movie at the quiet pool. They put up a screen and played movies for the kids while they swam. On the weekends sometimes, they'll have a dj on the boardwalk for the kids to dance to in front of the Dance Hall. The dueling piano bar (jellyrolls), is a must for the adults. ESPN,Big river grill, and the Flying fish are great food options. You can walk over to Beaches and Creams for ice cream, or poolhop at the Y and B pool. Watch the fireworks from the bridge outside Epcot, (if you don't feel like going in every night). There's so much more. Have a great trip!

We have been BW members since 1998.
We like a boardwalk view to people watch.
You can get VHS movies from the community center for free since your a member.
Also the community center has some fun activities for your 4 yr old that are usally fun and not usually crowded.
The pizza to go from spoodles is very good and easy to take back to the room!
The evening show at the boardwalk in front of the surrey bikes is fun too.
Also we like to use our pool hopping privileges across the water at Stormalong Bay, it should be a huge hit with your kids.
The bakery At BW has great pastrys etc. for breakfast, or just a snack.
Our kids like the facepainter on the boardwalk.
And the best is to leisurely stroll over to Epcot for Illuminations!
Have Fun!
We will be there in 1st week in May doing just that!! :D

the games on the boardwalk. I think I read that someone said that the facepainters are gone (moved on to another site). Rent a boat at the Beach/Yacht Club marina and watch the Epcot fireworks. Our family celebrated our son's b-day on the boat and had a great time.

The restaurants were fabulous along the boardwalk. Our family favorites were ESPN club and the microbrewery restaurant (I can't remember the name). We're casual kind of people so we didn't need formal.

Have fun and I wish we were with you....

Dream it and you're there!

The ESPN CLub is great. You may get lucky and find ESPN radio doing live shows from the club. This is especiallythe case during spring training when the Braves and all of the other teams are in town. :)

Dinner at The Beach club's Cape May Cafe. Seafood buffet $20 per. Even has kids menu. Best deal at DW. At 9 stroll over to the EPCOT entrance. Trees inhibit seeing a lot of the fireworks but seeing the crowd and hearing the music is pretty cool for free. You can have a cocktail at the BWV bar and sit on the balcony and people watch. Breakfast at the BWV bar (Bagels, Rolls...) is pretty cool also.

My most favorite thing to do on my last trip to Disney was to go to the Atlantic Dance Hall on the Boardwalk. What fun watching people swing and jitterbug, wearing the styles of the times!

We also ate at a fabulous Mediteranian restaraunt, but I can't remember the name of it. Does anyone know? We are going in May.

The night life on the BW is great. Just a lot of action and a lot of people.

Does anyone know if the DJ on the BW is only there on the weekends all year round or in the summer is it during the week too?

I thought that might be it but the name made me think of Italian food...Spoodles, noodles, pasta, Italian (my train of thought!) My memory is of greek things on the menu. Thanks for the confirmation.

The best thing about boardwalk is being in the middle of all the fun of: two parks in walking distance, a great pool, classy lobby, lots of food shopping and activities on the boards and still having a great home away from home.

Our favorite thing to do at BW is sit in the wicker rockers on the vreandah at night and just watch the people enjoying the activities. (with ice cream of course).

I just love the BW. For us it's home. We stayed at OKW a few times, but whenever we visited the BW we hated to leave. The BW has SO many things to do, or you can do nothing at all, it's completely up to you.
Our youngest two children LOVE the Community Hall. It has N64 games, some arcade games, a computer, TV with vcr, ping pong, foosball, art and crafts, daily events like balloon toss just so much for the children to do! Luna pool has a great slide.
We love going to ESPN, and so many of the other excellent restaurants. It's fun to catch some of the acts on the BW, as well as watching the little ones dancing to the DJ ( usually on Sat. nights.) Dueling Pianos is a lot of fun.I love the ease to the parks. Our older children can go to both MGM and Epcot without ever using a bus. They also enjoy walking over to "Fantasia Golf" for a round or two of mini-golf.
If you like games on the Inn side they have tables set up so you can relax and play some board games. You can also grab a quick breakfast here in the morning before heading out to the parks.
If your looking for some solitude, head over to the Inn side's quiet pool. It is surrounded by beautiful gardens, and I have hardly ever seen more than 2 or 3 other people there.
Our whole group enjoys walking over to Storm-along bay. The pool is great. We also like to get some ice cream, shakes and burgers at Beaches and Cream.
There is just so much to enjoy at the BW, I know you will have a GREAT time. Welcome Home!!!!!!!
:)

I'm getting so psyched about our first DVC trip to the Boardwalk!! :D

How long is the walk to Fantasia Golf?

The walk to Fantasia Gardens is not too far. You walk out through the Swan and Dolphin. Your 4 year old will love it. Ours actually went down the big slide at Luna pool on this last trip!
On an off day both of your little ones will LOVE Strom -a-long bay at Y&B. It's so easy to walk over there. The pool has a sand bottom, and gets so low that your baby will be able to play in it.There is also a small playgound for them buy the little pool near Luna Pool.
Since you have a sitter, take the time to check-out "Dueling Pianos" it's fun.
Our 19 year enjoys being able to get around to the parks without the bus or car. He did go one night to PI with his friend, they also shopped at DD earlier that night.
Flying Fish ( on the BW) has excellent food, kids are welcome, but it is more of an "adult" atmosphere. Y&B has great food, and they offer DVC discounts, Swan and Dolphin also offers discounts to DVC and they have a nice variety of restaurants.
Enjoy your trip! :)
