We are currently 23 days out from our annual trip to the world, however, this time, I will be 19 weeks pregnant!!! We are a family of four with two girls ages 7 and 10. This will be their 5th trip, so they are veterans. They know that mommy won't be able to ride some stuff because of the baby, but they've got daddy!

I know that there is plenty of stuff I can do while down there for sure, but I'm wondering what are some of the best places to hang out when pregnant and waiting for the rest of your family to get off of a ride. I am one of those "just happy to be at Disney" people, so not riding my favorites is ok....especially since we'll be back in April.

I plan on shopping, eating...we do spend alot of time at the resort/pool as it is so that will be good for the whole family.

Wondering about the pregnant Disney experience, as I have never done it. Advice appreciated!

i went this past may 24 weeks pregnant- i booked this trip pursposely after finding out i was pregnant so i could just take in the atmosphere and go baby shopping :)

i did all the rides except for the few headliners- i cant give many recommendations on places to hang out- because we kind of just went slower over all. definately found a few benches to hang out on because it was really warm.

we also spent every afternoon at the resort in the pool or taking a nap.

i enjoyed watching the fireworks in epcot from the planters along the walkway to world showcase- normally i watch it from the opposite side but i really wanted a place to sit.

we did the drawing class at dhs- something i always mentioned doing but always seemed on the go from ride to ride.

enjoy your vacation :) and remember to drink tons of water!

Subscribing! I will be almost 19 weeks for our trip this September.

I found out I was pregnant just a few weeks before our last visit. I got a 1st Visit pin and wrote "Baby Lastname #2" on it to announce my pregnancy on Facebook, enjoyed sitting in the air conditioning and having a cold drink while DH took DS on rougher rides, and went shopping. Unfortunately, there were no gender neutral clothes I could find. I did buy a Pluto pull toy that barks and DS insisted on getting the baby a stuffed baby Pluto.

I will be 17 weeks with twins for our annual fall trip. At 17 weeks with a singleton, I thought I would be feeling good and set to party. The best laid plans. By 17 weeks with twins, I may be big as a house! Oh well. :lmao: Hopefully some people have good advice.

I was 6 months pregnant when we went in June 2010. Keep in mind that the heat will likely affect you more than you are used to! Usually, while everyone else was doing thrill rides, I would just shop somewhere that had AC. (A couple of times I was nice and went on Fp runs, thanks to FP+ that's not necessary anymore)

Meeting characters was also a lot of fun - most of them wanted to rub my belly and got very excited about it :) Minnie Mouse was especially cute, so get some good pictures!

And definitely buy the little one their first Disney souvenir!

All great suggestions!!!

We are going to the Villains Party on the 23rd and I definitely want a picture with Darth Vader, so I can capture it "The Force is Strong with this one". I am such a geek!!! :lmao:

I definitely plan on buying some goodies for our little guy and hopefully some artwork for his nursery.

I can't wait to eat all of my yummy food favorites!!! And yes, drink lots and LOTS of water. :goodvibes

Great thread! I'll be 18 weeks when we go in a couple weeks. I feel the same way, just going to enjoy the atmosphere. My girls are veterans too and have their Daddy and other family members to do the big rides with. My joke is that I am planning to "eat my way around the world". They go on rides while I get some goodies (Those big cookies at Epcot -omg!!)

I will stay away from all the big rides...although I admit I am tempted to do mine train and test track. Ive heard mine train is extremely tame, and there isnt a whole lot of jostling with test track. Test track is the family's favorite. Please don't flame me for it, I'm sure I'll chicken out, just something I was thinking about.

Congrats to all who are expecting!

We bought DS his first Mickey plush while I was ~ 24 weeks on our trip 2 yrs ago. I remember spending a lot of time sitting a people watching (with frozen lemonade -yum) and spending a lot of time in stores looking at every little thing. It was a great trip! Enjoy.

OP - just saw your due date. I'm due a week before you!!! :)

Well, we may give birth the same day!!! I will have a scheduled c section sometime the week before my due date! :goodvibes

I was originally saying I might try the mine train too, but at 15 weeks I already look like I am 6 months pregnant so I don't think that lap bar is going to fit. :rotfl:

Yay for disboard babies! :goodvibes

So far for me the lap bar would fit, but theres still time to grow between now and then.

I also wanted to add that we plan on doing more shows and indoor things this time around than we normally do, like the American Adventure in Epcot, and Carousel of Progress as we haven't done it in many, many years. Anything to get us (ie. me and my belly lol) out of the heat.

My favorite part of my last disney trip (I was 28 weeks along) was having an excuse to sit and relax at starring rolls while the rest of my party rode RnR, ToT, and Star Tours :-)

My favorite thing was this:

I got one of those autograph books that has a spot to insert a picture on one side of the page and the signature on the other and we went character hunting! We got lots of pictures of me and the characters (pointing to my belly, posing, etc) and then put them in the book next to the signatures. It turned out pretty cute.

Normally I skip characters (many of my friends are "friends", so some of it loses it's appeal), but when I was pregnant I was full-on character hunter! Also, you could take a Keys to the Kingdom tour or any other tour. I did a Walt tour in Disneyland and it made up for me not riding the Matterhorn and Space Mountain!

I did run the Disney 1/2 that year too (2 mon along), so if you want to run, you can do that too!

My advice having gone in 1982 while five months pregnant? Get a bathroom map.

Great thread! Thanks for starting it. I will be 30 weeks when we go for our "babymoon" in September. I'm excited to try Disney at a different pace since DH and I usually go nonstop. My one requirement is that DH gets me a dole whip before he runs off to enjoy the mine train :cool1:
