What is your favorite sunscreen for your babies/kids/you?

I use Aveeno daily lotion and used Aveeno baby last year for DD and I really liked it. What's your favorite?

Neutrogena Fresh Cooling Body Mist Sunblock is our family favorite. The kids beg to use it --it not only SPF45 sunblock but it refreshes you with a cool mist on those hot, long Disney Days!

I like the nutregena I don't use the spray but the face stick is awesome we use it all the time I like that it isn't oily and the lotion too.

I agree 100% with Blue Lizard. That is the only sunscreen that doesn't make my daughter break out with a rash.

I like coppertone for babies because I love the way it smells and because my sister works for the company that makes it and all other coppertone products. I get all of it I want for free...and free is good right now!!!!:goodvibes

I like coopertone sport spray. The kids can put it on themselves. When they were small I could actually get it on them. Think hitting a moving target. :lmao: I can also get my back when we are at the pool. You know the kids a sprayed down and in the water before I can get anyone to help mom. DH like banana boat spray lotion. I don't only because you have to rub it in and well the kids still don't want to stand still that long

Absolutely, without a doubt -- Blue Lizard. In fact, I just ordered more and it arrived in the mail today.

It's expensive ($15 for a 5 oz bottle from Walgreens.com) but SO worth it. My younger DD is a very, very fair skinned red head and she burns terribly -- really terribly. Our pharmacist recommended Blue Lizard (he had the same problem) one day when we were at the grocery store to buy Solarcaine because she had a particularly bad sunburn. It is the only sunscreen we have found that really works for her -- even when she goes swimming, plays soccer, etc. It stays on in the heat and humidity, water, sweat, etc. I order the face and sport formulas for her. We've tried everything else out there -- even the Neutrogrena SPF 70 -- it just doesn't work as well.

I have never been able to find it in any stores where I live but it's available through several online stores. I usually order it from Walgreens.com because they have coupon codes and lots of free shipping deals.

It is from Australia, where their FDA (whatever their equivalent to the FDA is) standards are much higher than the US for sun protective products. So even though the bottle says SPF 30+, it protects much better than that. Plus it really stays on. I think their website says its waterproof for up to 240 minutes, or some insanely high amount of time.

Isn't there some ingredients I should be avoiding when looking for a sunscreen?

coppertone, its a classic. The others make me smell like a walking pineapple.

I like the Huggies Little Swimmers pump. But maybe it's just because I can't find it again. I had it last summer, but I couldn't find it again after it ran out. The sprays didn't seem to protect as well, and the lotions are too difficult to get on in the mornings before camp. But that Little Swimmers seemed to protect them And I could get it on them.

After reading this I'm going to have to try Blue Lizzard.

We love Bull Frog! My DH likes it since it doesn't feel slimy to him. We buy the spray and go through a TON of it in the spring and summer. I think we've already used one bottle already!

Neutrogena...simply the best. My favorite is Ultra Sheer Dry Touch; not sticky, greasy or smelly.

Another one for Blue Lizard. And, yes there are ingredients that you should avoid. The baby and Sensitive versions of Blue Lizard are the same thing, just different label and are both chemical free. We tried tons of brands to try to accommodate both sensitive skin and chemical free. Blue Lizard was the only one that eventually did rub in, didn't have a horrible odor and stayed effective for hours! I do find it hard to find. The only place around me that sells it is Wegmans. You can also order it on Amazon but I have heard of people complaining that they received bottles that were almost expired when they ordered.

OK, so I did some research and found that you should use sunscreen with zinc and or titanium dioxide as the active ingredents and avoid any sunscreen with oxybenzone.
