Looking ahead almost 2 years and doing some pie in the sky thinking. We can't swing a larger room, and tend not to need more than a studio, but we need to sleep 5.

Which is your favorite studio that sleeps 5?

Riveria and Poly would both be great options - larger and both have the split bathroom to help get people through showers faster.

Haven't stayed Riviera yet, but the 5 of us stayed at the Poly for 8 days last year (Me and wife, 18, 15, and 13 year old). It was perfectly fine and everyone slept comfortably. The full bathroom combined with the rain shower/sink room worked great for getting ready.

VGF studios also sleep 5 and have a split bathroom. We have to wait and see on the new building. Poly should have the new Murphy bed during this refurbishment. BRV will have been through a refurbishment and have the Murphy bed, BCV and BWV will probably be the only 2 without the Murphy bed, but lots love the location.

We'll have 14, 12 and 6 at that point, plus the two adults, so I think we need the murphy bed, but we generally don't spend a ton of time in the room on Disney trips (Aulani was the exception because we had an infant and we were sharing with my mother, so we had a larger unit.

poly was great.......pretty much any of the new rooms with the extra day bed in the tv work great for 5

how in the world can people sleep 5 to a studio? we tried a poly studio, a couple yrs ago, it was so bad they comped our tickets when we got home and complained. 2 bathrooms in a studio take up way to much room. Trying to think of a studio with 2 queens a sleeper chair or room for a cot, and enough room to move around and put clothes. MAYBE Old Key west? look at the older places, they had more sq feet. I haven't been to RIV or GF, not my cuppa, but have been in a studio in all others, boardwalk and boulder would work too I think.

5 of you stayed in one those tiny polly's studios? where did you put your clothes? maybe they remodeled??? I'm having a hard time understanding we spent one night with four of us and swore NEVER again! LOL The resort is beautiful, I hope they did fix the problem.

OKW doesn't sleep 5 in a studio and is smaller than Poly or Riviera. Plenty of people sleep 4 or 5 in studios just fine.

I must be out of touch, LOL. they used to sleep 5 in OKW studios, two queens and a sleeper chair. also if you look at sq ft. yes the poly has more but it's 2 bathrooms, not living sleeping space. we could barely move around and we are not big people.

Poly studios are noticeably bigger than the others we have stayed in (Saratoga, Beach Club, AKL)

are you counting the bathroom's? Because those take up unlivable space, not considered Living area in any real estate. I guess we require more of that than bathrooms. To each their own.

I find even the living area much more open than say BCV, but I am not sure if that is just my imagination or not. The second bathroom though is actually what makes PVB functional for my family of 4. My husband can shower in one while I get my daughters ready in the other. Everyone is ready to go for rope drop when we stay there !

Another plus is the balconies are much larger at PVB - we find we use them a lot more than when we stay at BCV which have two tiny chairs crammed in.

You are thinking of the OKW 1 bedrooms. The OKW studios never had a sleeper chair. Those are in the living room of the 1 bedrooms, along with a sleep sofa. OKW studios are the only WDW DVC studios with two Queen beds, though.

I spent 20 years in the Navy on submarines, my living area on a sub was about the size of the single Murphy bed under the television.

We didn't need a lot of room. We kept a lot of stuff in our van that we didn't absolutely need, and just brought in small suitcases, packaged food, and bathroom bags. We were out and about during the day most of the time. In the evening we just relaxed in bed and then slept. We travelled a lot as a family, and the Poly is bigger than most of the hotels.

We are at BWV studio now with a family of 5 (last of 3 night stay). Our kids are age 21, 19, & 17. We are switching to Poly studio tomorrow (first ever Poly stay - 5 nights) then Kidani 1BR (for 6 nights).
We usually do a few studio nights with park-heavy days and then a 1BR for a few nights with more swimming & resort time. This works for us and stretches our points to get an extra night or two per trip.

I work with a couple of ex reactor operators, one sub, one carrier. It's definitely a different perspective on space. ;)
