Hi All,
We are thinking of going on the Wonder in 2021. I was wondering what deck or stateroom you like and why? Or which deck to avoid? We are looking to book an ocean view deluxe family stateroom (the one with the porthole) or even 2 ocean view staterooms, whatever is cheaper. Last time we went on the Fantasy, we booked semi-late, so we just chose one from what was left, with very little research.

Thanks,
June

We had 2072 on our Alaska cruise and really liked it. Was mid-ship and very quiet. We had 2592 on a Caribbean cruise and it was horrible so stay away from that area. Every night from 11pm until 2am it sounded like bowling balls being dropped and rolled up above us. I think those room must be under a kitchen or some other work room. We also heard what sounded like metal being grinded. We loved deck 2 (2072) and really like the Wonder. Just avoid any room around 2592, I talked to someone on the other side and she had the same complaints so avoid 2092 also.

We had stateroom 7508 on the Wonder in Alaska~deluxe oceanview sateroom. Large porthole, forward. Great room, quiet. There were 4 of us-2 adults and 2 older teens. We all fit. Easily.

How many people are you trying to fit in a room? If it's 5, the Wonder/Magic only have the family verandahs that fit that size party, no oceanviews sleep 5. The Wonder/Magic do not have the type of portholes that you can sit in like the Fantasy/Dream either.

We stayed in 2116 on the Wonder and 2108 on the Magic and enjoyed those locations. They're both oceanviews on deck 2, category 9C, at or just forward of the aft elevators. We liked the easy access to the stairs/elevators, and heard no noise in those locations. It's also convenient to one of the laundry rooms (entrance across from 2096.) There is 1 large porthole, but not as big as those 'sit in' ones. Deck 1 oceanviews (category 9D) have 2 small portholes. Also note that for the midship deck 2 rooms (category 9B), most of them only sleep 3 people, there's only 4? that sleep 4 people. (Oh, and the category 9B portholes are slightly bigger than the 9C portholes.)

Here's a pic of the porthole in 2116 on our Alaska cruise (8/2016), so you can see the size of the window compared to a person. I'm kind of leaning on the ledge by the window...not really big enough to sit on though!

I am trying to fit 5. Super helpful information. Thank you! And the picture is of great help too.

Yup - the family rooms (or the high concierge's) are your only options for 5 in 1 room. You might find it cheaper to book 2 connecting rooms on deck 2 though. We've got a family of 6, and we always get either inside or oceanview connecting rooms on deck 2. Works great! And 2x deck 2 rooms are cheaper than a family deluxe or concierge suite.

Cheers!
