Okay, so where are your favorite places to plant yourself in either park, and why? No Rides.

US:
I like to hang around outside of Mel's and watch for the comings and goings of all the characters...those that work there and the ones that are visiting.

I like to find a spot in Diagon Alley and sit and watch the newbies be awestruck...plus, it is not as hot in there.

Speaking of hot, when it gets way hot, I like to chill in the AmEx lounge and grab some water and a granola bar (or 2...or 3).

IOA:
I like to grab a cinnamon roll and sit at the main split, just past Port of Entry, great place to people watch and chill.

Grab a seat near the Mystic Fountain and watch the kids be amazed...as well as a few confused adults.

Not as much any more, but I used to sit at the front of Camp Jurassic forever as my boys played...they are 18 and almost 15, but they will still be in there this year...guaranteed.

Love Camp Jurassic! My boys are 11, 13, and 15 and still love that area :D

Discovery Center in Jurassic Park...out the back doors. Love how peaceful it is there!

I like to grab a drink (specifically a rum runner) from the Watering Hole in Jurassic Park area and go sit by the lily pads across from the Discovery Center. One will probably be enough, lol. :)

In CityWalk but my favorite place....

I love to sit in the Adirondack chairs outside Margaritaville with an it's 5 o'clock somewhere in hand, listen to Buffett tunes and people watch.

I love the Mystic Fountain. Enjoy the interaction with the kids.

I also spend time in Knockturn Alley listening to the shrunken heads singing and telling jokes. It's nice and cool in there.

They have benches in Knockturn Alley. So nice and cool back there. Also Carkitt Market is a great area to hang out in period.

There's a chimney sweep sign in Knockturn alley that I am obsessed with.

IOA - Discovery Center (sit and lean against a wall near the dinosaur display so I do not disturb anyone).

Universal - T2 (get there early and sit/relax in the queue, once inside the preshow, sit against the wall and charge my phone).

Kind of cheated with T2, but it's essentially what I do once I want to relax and slow down for the day when I'm on that side. Also, I need air conditioning. I can't just plant it outside when it's over 90 degrees most of the time. However, I have to admit Knockturn is a good place to go, as it probably the coolest area in any park that is technically outside.

The covered seating/bandstand in front of the water near Transformers in USF.
Behind Moose Juice through the Zax Bypass in Suess Landin in IOA. It has a pretty view of the water. However, there is a smoking area back there:(
The pond/fountain next to the Cat in the Hat bathrooms in IOA.
The goblin statue in Diagon Alley in USF.
The outside benches in front of the Springfield indoor food area in USF.
The grass in front of Rip Ride Rocket in USF.
