I was just reminiscing about our past trips to DLR. I miss the sights and smells (mmm...churros), but I really miss all the sounds too! One of my personal favorites is the bird chirp when you get your ticket/AP scanned. We had a room at GCH just above the dedicated DCA entrance, and I loved hearing the park wake up in the morning!

I also miss the Star Tours bell type/chime noise (it's my current notification sound), and basically the whole spiel from the railroad narrator.

So what's your favorite sound, noise, announcement, or song that you miss?

My favorite sound is pretty specific, we were at our first Halloween party at DL and were walking by ROA. We heard the Dapper Dan's singing "This is Halloween" before we could see them and it was so cool. They came out of the fog on the river and I can still hear their version of the song.

Some runners up are the chirps going through POTC in the beginning of the ride, the sound of Screamin (it will always be Screamin to me) taking off as I walk the pier, and as you mentioned the chirp of the entry scan.

This has me all in my feelings.

I love this thread! ::::floats into a dream state:::

1) A very specific sequence of the Main Street music loop involving a violin (I’ll find it one day and link).

2) The Haunted Mansion Holiday music box music that plays on the exterior of the ride

3) Teacup music (A Very Merry Unbirthday)

4) Fantasmic pre-show announcement, when the voice changes to a slightly menacing tone when she says “...But beware… nothing is more powerful than the imagination—for it can also expand your greatest fears into an overwhelming nightmare.”

5) Fantasmic chorus/outro — when the Mark Twain lights up and all the characters are waving. Still get chills, crowd goes wild, and that’s your one-hour warning (2nd show) before park ends its operating day!

I didn't realize how much sounds triggered my emotions until this thread. It sounds so silly but geez Disneyland is special. I'm so glad I've passed my love of Disney to my daughter and hope she keeps it. I did walk in on her watching a YouTube video of someone walking around DL the other day so I think I'm safe.

Another sound I miss and I won't be back is the beach music from DCA. Especially at Christmas, the beach Christmas music still makes me happy when I hear it.

So many good ones!

Entrance Chime
Mark Twain whistle
DLRR whistle
Star Tours
Horse hooves on Main St
Vehicles honking on Main St
Dumbo bell ring
Carousel ring
Fake "Railroad" sound of BTMRR
Gunshots at the Shootin' Gallery
Birds chirping, jazz music, temple drums of Indiana Jones queue
Matterhorn queue
Everything about Pirates
All of New Orleans Square

Last night my daughter (8) and I were watching DL rides on YouTube. So strange but when they went on Splash Mountain and we looked at each other and said, "I can smell it!" She's so my sweet little Disneyland lover. Can't wait to get back there.

The music on Main Street
The music from Screamin' (sadly)
The plaza music from Small World

I have the last version of the Disneyland music CD. I love it, because it does have a lot of the music from rides that aren't there any more. I think it was released right after Cars Land opened, so it has the music from Luigi's Flying Tires, the original music from Soarin', Screamin', and many others. One it does NOT have is the music from the teacups. I listen to it when I really want a Disney fix - the music is so evocative.

Chime when they scan your ticket (my text notification)

Teacups (my ring tone)

Tiki room

DLRR

Those are some favorites but I miss everything. Lol

Is that the whistle that sounds like a bird chirp when you get your ticket scanned and then once it finishes scanning a music cue is heard? I think I remember it well because my Dad used to whistle along to it when they did it. My favorite sound of Disneyland is the announcement at the end of It's A Small World you know the one that goes "Please remain seated until the boat comes to a complete stop at the dock and you are asked to disembark" I always like to repeat that announcement every time I hear it

Yes, that's the whistle/bird chirp sound I was referring to. I can't whistle otherwise I'd probably be doing that in line too (like your Dad)!
