Favorite snack food to take to holiday parties....

Shrimp and cocktail sauce (homemade with hot horseradish, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and a squeeze of lemon).

I also have a different chili con queso dip (usually I double):

1 lb. Velveeta
1 can chili without beans
1 can chopped chilies
4 chopped green onions

Cube the cheese, mix in the rest in a crockpot -- heat on low for 2-3 hours or until melted.

I love dips as much as anyone else but I hate taking dip anywhere in case it has to be kept warm and bringing the crackers/chips and then waiting to take the leftovers home or at least the crockpot.

I usually make things I can take and leave.

This weekend I made up a buffalo chicken dip but thicker and then put into seamless crescent roll. I rolled up a few sheets each and cut into bite size pieces. I call them little pillows of goodness.

I've also done the same with spinach dip by stuffing into seamless crescent roll and also cut into bite size pieces.

For people that need alot of appetizers you can make ahead mini quiche, freeze and thaw before a party. I have several dozen in my freezer for a few upcoming parties this month.

Christmas themed oreo balls
Chocolate covered pretzel sticks (with Christmas sprinkles)
No bake peanut butter cheesecake

As you can see, I like to have dessert covered :) Good luck with your parties!

Ooooooh - PB Cheesecake! Two of my husbands favorite things! May I have the recipe?:goodvibes

LOL!

I can't believe no one mentioned Buffalo Chicken Dip!!!! MMMMMM!

I know, I got this recipe from the Dis and everywhere I've taken it it's been a HUGE hit! lol I love Buffalo Chicken Dip!! :) I think I'll be serving it as a Christmas munchie at our house. :)

I haven't read all the responses but yesterday I brought a double recipe of "Man Candy" to our family party and it was a massive hit!

It's basically Lil Smokies wrapped in bacon and covered in brown sugar. Unbelievably good! And easy. I made them the night before, cooked the morning of and kept them warm in a crockpot.

Oh wow, those sound sooooo good!! I may have to do this as well. I normally just do them in the crock pot with BBQ sauce because the kids like that but man, this sounds so good!!

I like to make white cheddar dip, it's very easy and so good. 1 block of extra sharp white cheddar (not yellow, white), shred, mix it with 1 small finely diced white onion and 1 cup of mayo (don't forget the mayo), put it in the oven for about 20 minutes at 325. Serve with bread or tortilla chips. :)

I have a few others but they were previously mentioned so I'll skip adding them again. lol

I always do asparagus wraps- they are always the first gone.

Trim and blanche aparagus spears.

Lay out a slice(or 2) of deli sliced roast beef- spread with horseradish cream (sold over by the mayos) and roll up.

I cut into halves or thirds.

Last year we did "leftover turkey" wraps.

Lay out a flour tortilla spread with the jellied cranberry sauce, filled with turkey salad, and rolled up and sliced pinwheel style.

Pigs in a Blanket made with Hilshire Farms little smokies and those biscuit in a cans.

OMG. So easy, so retro 70's cheesy, so yummy.

People lose their minds every time. They are always the first thing gone. I have always come home with an empty plate.

I usually put out some small bowls of mustard/ketchup/bbq sauce.

I figure as long as it's popular I'm going to keep taking it.

Tex Mex Spinach Dip

1 pkg frozen (thawed and drained) spinach (or chop a giant handful of fresh)
1 brick cream cheese (softened!)
1 can rotel
1 pkg monterey jack shredded cheese

Cook at 350 for 40 minutes +/-
Serve warm with tortilla chips

SOOOOOO Good and I am ALWAYS being asked to make this, and asked for the recipe -and no I cannot take credit, it was a friends recipe that I also swiped ;) I tend to double this because it goes quick too ;)

Stuffed Pepperocini's (sp).

One package of cream cheese softened 8 oz.
Diced onion and red pepper - I have no idea how much I use (maybe half the pepper and 1/4 onion)
6 slices of crispy bacon.
Tablespoon of milk

Mix together creamcheese and milk until smooth, fold in red pepper, onion, and bacon. Stuff mixture into pepperocini's and serve.

This is best made right before the party and not to far in advance as the creamcheese can get funny coloring sitting too long.

These are a huge hit anywhere I bring them. I'm making tonight, so I can be more specific with ingrediants if necessary.

My friends always request I make my BBQ Chicken Ranch Dip. Very simple, but soooo tasty and yummy. I never have any leftovers to take home. I serve with tortilla chips, but I have friends that like to dip crackers, pretzels and bread into it also.

Cook all in crockpot until smooth and creamy, then keep on warm.

1 bag shredded sharp chedder cheese
1 bag shredded colby jack cheese
1 bag shredded mozzzerella cheese
1 jar Marzetti ranch dressing
1/4 cup half and half
1/2 cup (more or less to taste) Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce
about a pound of diced or shredded chicken

White chocolate covered popcorn. 1 bag of microwave popcorn popped, 1/2 large block of white candy coating melted & poured over popcorn. Gently stir to coat popcorn. Sprinkle with a little red and green sugar. People will think you are a genious. popcorn::

My cousin had a recipe similar to this for Halloween. But instead of the red/green sugar, you include candy corn.

You don't have to include the sugar, it just looks more Christmasy. :)

:thumbsup2 One of my go-to options, especially when I am really busy or feeling lazy! And there's never any leftover. Ever.

Homemade yeast bread with honey and spice butter.

I get Rhodes yeast bread from Walmart and real butter. I follow the instructions on the bread and usually make more than one loaf. (It's hard to guess, but usually I think 1 loaf = 10 servings and 1 person = 1.5 to 2 servings.)

For the butter, I let a half pound of butter completely soften, then I whip it with a teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice, a half cup of confectioner's sugar and a half cup of butter and maybe a tablespoon of whipping cream (if I have it in the house, if not, I leave it out). Of course, the amount depends on the number of people at the party.

People love it and it's really cheap.

Is there supposed to be honey included?

We usually do a bunch of appetizers for our new year's eve party. The only thing I see not mentioned already that I will be making is cucumber "sandwiches". Take a packet of ranch or italian dressing packets (I use ranch) mix in with cream cheese (I usually use 1/2 a packet or so) Spread on 1/4 slice of whole wheat bread or the little bitty bread that you find in the deli section. Top with a slice of cucumber. It looks something like this but I cut into smaller pieces.
