Last time I tried to wear my "treadmill" shoes (jogging shoes) and they gave me awful blisters within the first day, despite my best techniques.

I had to switch to Birkenstocks by day 2, which were good, but I had to wear socks with them (it was cold outside).

This time we will be going in May and we definitely need something for everyone to wear on their feet. I suspect the kiddos will get a chance to go swimming and get wet on some rides this time, so bearing that in mind, what would you recommend?

I've been looking at Tevas, but I'm leery of their arch support and overall stability for that much walking.

Thanks!

I'm sure I'll be the only one to say this, but flipflops are my shoe of choice for Disney. Never had a blister

A lot of people are talking about Crocs on this board. Do a search for them. I havent tried them yet but a lot of the nurses I work with swear by them. Gonna try to pick me up a pair this week.

I wear either running shoes that i have not wore running or sandals that love my feet. I think blisters are a part of the Disney experiance. ::MickeyMo

I think your first problem is that you're not meant to wear any type of shoe specifically made for running or jogging for walking. The supports are built differently in those types of shoes than walking shoes and won't give you the type of support you need for long haul walking.

I actually just wore my Sketchers.. They were comfy and broken in. I also carried around a pair of cheap, light weight, flip flops in my bag to change into incase it rained or we went on Splash. I hate walking a round in wet sneakers!

Have you checked out the threads on this board for the Crocs? Here's a link to that discussion:

Crocs

I've ordered some, but haven't received them yet. I only ordered them after reviewing what everyone else on line was saying! :)

I've been 7 times now and I wore sneakers the first 2 or 3 trips and always got blisters no matter what advice I followed (special moisture absorbing socks, baby powder on feet or deoderant on feet, bigger shoes, smaller shoes etc...). Nothing worked. I did bring moleskins after 2 trips to cover the blisters which helped alot but I was still getting them!

Then I bought a GREAT pair of walking sandals and I've never gotten a blister since. I also put moisture absorbing cream on in the AM, I soak my feet at night and I still bring moleskins just in case.

I first bought Ecco Cosmo sandals (on ebay because they are expensive) and they were like walking on clouds. I did however start to feel a blister after 4 days. But much better. No break in time.

Then for our trip last August (and October) bought a pair of Tevas (Pretty Rugged leather) and they were GREAT. Not one blister on either trip. These did need a couple weeks of break in time at least for me.

Good luck deciding.

Everyone in our family wears the best quality walking shoe that we can afford. I personally like Nike Air types, but have also been comfortable in Easy Spirit walkers. I didn't like any type of sandal. My feet got dirty and more than once I had my toes stepped on in lines. I prefer to have my DGDs little tootsies completely covered.
