Favorite room location OKW

We just purchased DVC at SSR and will be staying there in Feb. We will also be going at some point next summer and since we have never been to OKW I am looking for advice. My son really likes the look of the sand castle slide. Would that be close to Olivia's and the bus?

The slide is located at the main pool, near Olivia's and main check-in. For that area of OKW, be sure to try to book in the "Near Hospitality House" category, it is a separate booking category, same number of points. The Near HH category is buildings 11 to 14 and 23 to 26.

There are 5 bus stops throughout the resort, the one for Hospitality House is the LAST stop on the circuit, except for the internal/DtD bus, which stops there first AND last. There are 4 pools (the main pool & 3 large quiet pools) in the resort. All the pools have a sandy children play area and hot tub. While OKW can feel spread out, it is really about a 10 minute walk, at most, from any outlying area to the Hospitality House area. Also, you can hop on ANY bus, and it will drop you of at HH, as it is the last stop. To get back to your room, walk over to the Peninsular Rd stop (near Bldg 26), and board any bus, as it is the first stop in the circuit.

There is also a small sauna room built into the base of the OKW Lighthouse, near the main pool.

Peninsular Rd
South Point
Old Turtle Pond
Miller's Road
Hospitality House/Cove Road

Anything in Building 11 - 13 is my favorite. Quiet, off the main road and bus route, on a golf course or lake view, walking distance to the 'town center', walking distance to the Downtown Disney boat, close bus stop that is either first or last stop.

Chuck gave a good run down. If you are in a 1 or 2 bedroom that will have guests staying in the living room portion though, be sure you request building 30 or higher. The buildings UNDER 30 do not have a seperate door into the master bath, and will require any living room guests to pass through the master to get to the bathroom.

Each person's preference will be different, and for what it's worth, most locations at OKW have some great up sides. We all do have our favorites though, and our favorite buildings are 15, 13, 14, 21, 45, 46, 55, and 56.
