Hi. We are heading to Universal Studios for the first time for the Harry Potter experience. Would love some opinions on favorite restaurants in the area. If you would share your top 3! Thank you.

Well definitely get to Three Broomsticks and Leaky Cauldron for the full Potter experience. Both are QS. Our favorite TS restaurants are Antojitos and Cowfish, both at City Walk.

Favourite table service: Finnegans (US), Confiscos (IOA), and Margaritaville (CityWalk).

Favourite quick service: Leaky Cauldron & Simpsons Fast Food Blvd (US), Three Broomsticks (IOA).

Still on our to-try list (that get great reviews): Thunder Falls Terrace & Mythos (both IOA).

Definitely try the Butterbeer (our fave is the cold, we're not huge fans of the frozen) and the Butterbeer ice cream from Florean Fortescue's. Its divine.

In the HP areas Leaky Cauldron and Florean Fortescues are a must do for me (the Salted Caramel Blondie flavour at FFs is amazing!

Outside of HP I'd recommend Springfield USA (lots of counter service options with something for everyone) and I really enjoyed Fire Eaters Grill (it's standard park food but I enjoyed it)

TS at IOA- Mythos
CS at IOA-Thunder falls terrace

TS at studios- NOne
Cs at studios- Monsters café, Louies, FastFood Blvd

TS at resorts -Portofino Bay -Mama Dellas
CS at resorts- Portofino Bay -Sals Marketplace

Citywalk- Cowfish

Citywalk: Antojitos
Parks: Florean Fortescue and Mythos. (Also try leaky cauldron and three broomsticks for the Potter experience)

In IoA, Mythos is hands down our favorite. Outside the parks we enjoy Margaritaville for its fun ambiance. We also enjoy the Hard Rock, but more for memorabilia than the food.

TS restaurants - We enjoyed our lunch at Finnegan's very much. Hard Rock Cafe has an excellent NY Sirloin if you're in the mood for a steak and Bubba Gump's for seafood.

CS - Did not like CS in Simpson's land. Decent pizza at Confisco Grill at IoA.

Haven't eaten at Three Broomsticks or Leaky Cauldron yet but will be doing both next week!!!

Red Oven Pizza at the Citywalk is really good. And the price is somewhat fair as well. You can sit at one of their tables or get it to go and sit at a table that overlooks the river. Either are great people watching spots.

I also like Pat O'Briens and kids can get a NA Hurricane there. The courtyard is a good place to sit, but inside the piano bar is also fun (and family friendly, at least during dinner time).

I found the stuff inside the park to be just ok (did not go to Mythos though). But Fast Food Blvd is very well themed. It was great to eat a Krusty Burger and drink a Flaming Moe and a Duff's beer in Moe's Tavern. I consider it a must do if you are a Simpsons fan, even if the burger isn't that great.

We found the Simpsons food are to be very meh. The burgers were not just under great, they were down right bad. Wish I'd chosen other fare from the choices in the line.

And we do Mythos EVERY time we visit!! Love it.

So our votes for top three are:
MYTHOS,
MYTHOS,
and Confisco Grill

I agree - we found Simpsons very blah and are unlikely to return (didn't help that i had the crankiest cashier in the world).

We really liked Mythos.

Louie's was awesome value for money and the pasts was really good.

I usually always eat at Three Broomsticks - good value for the Dining Plan, especially since 2 rib platters are plenty of food to share between my family of 4.

My newest discovery is Cowfish - YUM!

And for really good ice cream at a FAB price...Emack & Bolio's at the Hard Rock Hotel.

I just wish there were more good options for counter service - especially at the onsite resorts. We stayed at RPR and there are very few options for a quick bite to eat without the extensive time commitment for a table service.
