I have been looking and found that some restaurants have some fun "entertainment" without being considered "shows."

Like Ohana has the big fire pit in the middle, the Teppanyaki places cook in front of you. Stuff like that.

Do you have any other suggestions? I'm trying to maximize our dinner experiences without having to spend extra cash or use up 2 dining plan meals.

Thanks for the suggestions!!

The Biergarten in Epcot's Germany has a wonderful oompah band that plays every hour. Very festive ... my kids loved it. The food there is an all-you-can-eat buffet and is quite good.

Strange that the first restaurant I thought of was at Universal, not WDW (one of the restaurants at Portofino that has the waiters doing Italian opera every 20 minutes or so).

At WDW, my favorite is Whispering Canyon.

The servers at Prime Time 50's Cafe are very entertaining! It's even fun to watch them mess around with other people when they are not at your own table. We always get a kick out of going there, even the one time we had a dud waitress!

Another vote for 50's Prime Time Cafe. We loved the food, and had "mom" herself as our server! :teeth: (we never did finish our homework though) :guilty:

Theres usually some interesting things going on at Whispering Caynons at Wilderness Lodge during dinner

My vote is for Biergarten in Germany at Epcot. We have to go there at least once on every trip. The food is really very good and the "polka band" is great entertainment. If you have any kids in the group, that's even better, because they are all invited on stage to do the Chicken Dance. Here's a few pics from last month when we went there:

Boatwrights at Port Orleans Riverside is next to the River Roost lounge. On weekends they have Bob Jones playing in the lounge. He is very entertaining and put on a show appropriate for the whole family. There is easy access from Downtown Disney by bus or boat.

the beirgarten in germany ws at epcot has a band that puts on a show & plays music. marrakesh in morocco ws at epcot has a bellydancer, which is neat to watch. the sci fi dine in at mgm has sci fi clips playing on a drive in screen. whispering canyon cafe at the wilderness lodge & the 50s prime time cafe at mgm have fun servers which provide entertainment through their antics. palio at the swan has strolling musicians. ntm all the character meals & dinner shows at disney which have entertainment built in.
