Favorite restaurants outside WDW

One of our favourites is Golden Corral. It's a reasonably priced buffet style restaurant. The huge selection of food is always tasty. You won't be disappointed.

Also, we enjoy Logan's Roadhouse. They have daily specials and happy hour. Peanuts everywhere! They are located across Hwy. 192 from Old Town.

Both of these are very family friendly.

Enjoy!

this thread is making me hungry!!!

ok it's Buffalo not Orlando but Ted's Hot Dogs are good.

We try to always hit

Olive Garden (cause thats DH favourite and theres none here anymore)
Friendlys (Best Ice Cream ever and there food has really improved over the years and is really good now)
Also IHOP

My other favs are Carabbas (sorry if its Spelled wrong)
Bubba Gump (AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME)
Margaritaville

I have eaten at 3 different Cheesecake Factories, Hawaii, Chicago and Buffalo, all great and identical menu. Too much food all the time< suggest you split meals if possible. Also ate at a PF Changs in Arizona, liked it even better than cheesecake. My friends swear by the Karabas in Buffalo. So I bet the Orlando one is good as well.
Thanks for the pizza suggestion we are always looking for a great delivery pizza place in Orlando for those nights we want crash in the room and not leave.
A good website for interesting food ideas for many US cities is Hollyseats.com
she rates diners and hot dog places, but also many other great local spots.

Thank you everyone for you great suggestions!
We were travelling with a big group, and as you know it's hard to please everyone, but most of the spots we went to were great.
Ming Court was amazing! Everyone loved it.
My parents are very frugal and wanted to go to a couple of places that provide coupons, and they winter in St. Petersburg so are familiar with some of the chains. My dad chose Cici's for pizza buffet. Admittedly not the greatest food I've ever had, but good enough for the price and quite a variety to choose from. My mom chose Sizzler, and even my MIL who can be pretty 'stuck-up' said she enjoyed her meal there.
For our night out without the kids, dh and I went to Black Angus as it was close and we both felt for steak. We both really enjoyed our meal there as well. There is a coupon in some of the booklets for this but beware: half the items on the menu are excluded from the coupon!
We also took the kids to the huge Deli McDonalds near the Prime Outlets (can't remember exact location) and we were so impressed with it! I have never seen anything like it in my life! My dh had quesadilla and I had veggie pizza and both were very good. The kids were thrilled that they had an arcade upstairs where they could collect tickets to get a prize, as well as the 'traditional' climber area.
The only restaurant we were sadly disappointed in was Shoney's. My parents frequent this one in St. Pete's, too, but none of us were happy with that one.
Someone just mentioned Cracker Barrel. I am a huge fan for breakfast! My family for some reason doesn't agree with me, though (perhaps it is the ever-present grits??), but I persuaded everyone to go on our last morning there and it was very yummy as usual!

Breakfast at Cracker Barrel - I am drrrroooollllinnggggg!!! Please tell me you'll write a TR!!!!!!

I'd love to hear your on-site dining reviews!!!

Sorry Daisy. There will be no trip report...I spend enough time online as it is. And I only dined at two on-site TS restaurants: Chef Mickey's (which we all really enjoyed, and it was a very special Birthday dinner for my 4 y/o), and Cap'n Jack's. Cap'n Jack's was my dad's request for his birthday. I had heard some bad things about it so I was worried, but everyone really enjoyed their food. The menu is very limited, however. We ate our lunches at counter service places (we really liked our food at Columbia Harbour House) and our dinners at our rental house or the places mentioned in my last post.
