So, we're doing a big family vacation next summer to Disney World with my parents and siblings... there will be 9 of us total.

What are your favorite restaurants for larger groups?

I was thinking that I definitely want to do Ohana one night and one of the character meals.

My parents have never done Disney the "right way" ( ;) ) so I'm so excited to plan this all out!

You might look into Teppan Edo (I think either 10 or 12 people can sit at one hibachi table there) as a fun thing to do as a larger group. Similarly, a restaurant like Biergarten, where lots of people sit together at one large table might be fun. Those would both be places where your group wouldn't have to wait forever for an area that can accommodate all of you, or worse, get split up into separate tables.

You may also want to look at some of the buffet restaurants (and since a lot of the character meals are at buffets, that should fit in nicely) so you'll have a better chance of everyone finding something they'd like to eat.

Have a great trip!

Ohana! Great for children & groups of all sizes. Plus the food is fabulous! A must-do for us every trip!

We're doing a big trip (11) in December. We love Teppan Edo but skipped it this trip because I think the tables only seat 8 (we looked at pictures from past trips). We're doing Chef Mickey's, Coral Reef, Restaurant Marrakesh, and Tutto Italia. We'll see how the big-group seating goes... On a past trip we had 9 at Ohana and had a great time.

My two favorite family restaurants for families would have to be O'hana and Cape May Cafe. I love them both, but O'hana would be first choice.
Make ressies early and try to get them somewhat late, late enough where you'll be able to see the MK fireworks from the big glass window...it's beautiful!! :lovestruc

Ohana - we did this with my parents and they loved it.

They also enjoyed 1900 Park fare (Breakfast) - They loved the characters there.

Enjoy where ever you choose!

Raglan road , biergarten , mama melrose , California Grill and Spirit of Alpha show were great for our group of 8 adults. Good luck and enjoy.

'Ohana by far is the best choice. We were at Cape May Cafe for the seafood buffet the other week, and it just didn't seem to be worth the price. Not that it was bad, just didn't seem to satisfy like on other visits.

In 2009, we went with 6 adults and 2 kids. As I've said about twice here in the past hour, our favorite meal taking into consideration both food and entertainment was Whispering Canyon Cafe.

Our favorite food was Kona but at the same time, no entertainment at all. Least favorite food was probably 50s PTC if I had to choose but still was good.

Our favorite character meal was 1900 Park Fare for character interaction. Food-wise it was Crystal Palace for breakfast. Least favorite was Tusker House breakfast but more b/c it just felt so crowded there for some reason.

We also ate at LeCellier. It was good enough but wasn't really the right atmosphere for my kids who were only 5 & 2 at the time. Plus it's now 2 credits for dinner.
