We have been to WDW so many times, but we always seem to eat at the same places.

Brown Derby, Crystal Palace, Garden Grill, Chef Mickeys.

Can you please tell me your favorite place to eat, why its your favorite, what do they serve and is it ok for my 9 yr old DS.

Thanks for any and all suggestions. I cant believe we have less then a week before we go!!!

One of our favorite places is Akershus in Norway. My DH loves fish and I don't care for it so he wanted to try it. I did not want to go but since I had picked nearly everything else on our trip I gave in. I looked at the menu and was not impressed but I was mistaken. I tried many items on the buffet and then went back for seconds!! I could eat the brown goat cheese all day..I even found some at a specialty store and surprised my DH..a little taste of Norway *can't think of the name off hand). They have things I think the kids would like..a little fancier mac and cheese (pasta with a white sheese), meatballs. We go next Feb and I can't wait to eat there!

(were you on e-diets)

Broken record..........

California Grill!!!!! :)

After that I'd say Palio and Spoodles. Yachtsman use to be one of them but it's been a long time since I've eaten there and I have heard such bad reviews :( :(

hmmm where else.... Teppanyaki, Liberty Tree Tavern, House of blues, Wolfgang pucks..........

there's just too many good places to eat at wdw :)

Enjoy your trip!

Sci-Fi Dine In
The food is good but eating in a car under the stars with old movie clips keep my kids quiet and happy throughout the meal!
They love the glowing ice cubes also.

Well, we have several 'must dos', but our favorite is.... JIKO!!!
We enjoy the theming, the food, the wine, and just flat out always have great times there. :)

Our new thing is to try one new restaurant per visit, as we found ouselves dinning in the same exact places again, and again. This coming visit we are trying the California Grille for the first time.

My 12-year old and I really enjoyed Spoodles. I was worried that my son wouldn't like it much, and it turned out to be his favorite restaurant. The staff there was outstanding, and the food delicious.

For character meals, we prefered the Liberty Tree Tavern. The food was great, the service excellent and the characters were wonderful. Crystal Palace was a big disappointment. We were told that they had recently expanded it, so it now takes the characters over an hour to make the rounds. It was a full hour before a single character came to our table (and we had finished our meal by then) and 1 1/2 hours before all four characters had come around. That was after a 35 minute wait to be seated, by far our longest PS wait. The food was mediocre and the servers were not as friendly as most other places. The characters were great, but Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore are easy to find at MK (Judge's Tent), AK (as you enter Dinoland) and Epcot (England). We even saw Piglet at MGM near the Sorcerer's Hat. We also did character dinner at 1900 Park Fare (nice) and breakfast at Cinderalla's Royal Table, and Akershus (food a bit greasy and heavy but otherwise a delightful experience).

Our DS loves RFC and Sci Fi. Then there's Boma, Crystal Palace, Shula's.....

Cape May Cafe is our favorite!!! We also like Boatwrights at Port Orleans for breakfast. Prime Time Cafe is great food and a fun atmosphere.

Another vote for Cape May. We LOVED the clambake!!!!

Also, ESPN club was great -- the kids loved it, also.

Number one favorite is Planet Hollywood :) They have great burgers and after eating you can check out the second and third floors(all different kind of items, from all different kinds of movies).
O' yeah they also play music videos on plenty of tv's.
Number two is Rainforest Cafe (DD) atmosphere is excellent(food is good too).
Number three is Boatwrights at POR - excellent breakfast.
And finally last but not least 50's Prim Time Cafe- Loads of fun.
I think all four will be just fine for 9 yr. old DS

Definitely Kona Cafe for breakfast! And, they are very kid-friendly! :)

For lunch/dinner we like: Trail's End Buffet (great for kids!), Palio, Cape May, Wolfgang Puck Express

I noticed you're a Brown Derby fan, but you might try Prime Time. Your nine-year-old might get a kick out of seeing mom get scolded for not minding her manners. (My dd was only 5 when we went there three years' ago and she still talks about the place where "Daddy got in trouble" for putting his elbows on the table). It made more of an impression on her than meeting Cinderella!

If you want good, basic, homestyle food, you can't beat 50's PT. This turned out to be our favorite dinner of our trip in June. The pot roast and fried chicken are some of the best I've had anywhere. And the portions were huge!
The decor is great and the waitstaff is lots of fun. Give this one a try.

Italy...always tasty.

Mexico...my fav.

I hear good things about the Italian place in MGM...forgot name, haven't tried it myself yet.

Canada is also the place for steak, from what I have been told.

SciFi was good too, worth trying at least a lunch there.

Kona Cafe is wonderful! Great food and service and perfect for a family.

We also love Jiko, again, excellent food and service.

Two others are Narcooses, again, excellent food and service and kid friendly in an upscale way, and Citrico's. Citrico's tends to offer very liesurely service, and not all children the age of yours might enjoy it as much as others. I know at nine my son would have been miserable there, but fine at the CG, Jiko, and Narcooses.
