What are your Favorite Resort Speciality Items at Counter Service? Looking for some ideas. Ohh please include dessert and drink selections too. :teacher:

I was wondering the same thing also. We are going Nov. 12 - 19th and I am putting together all the info I can on where to eat.

When we stayed at POP we found their buttermilk fried chicken to be outstanding. The tye-dye cheesecake was yummy, too. And dh loved their twinkie tiramisu. Don't go expecting to have the best tiramisu of your life, but rather a very tasty, unique, and fun dessert.

At POFQ we were anxious to try their beignet's, but I was truly disappointed in them. We watched them being made fresh but somehow they still turned out chewy and tough. Dh didn't mind them but I took about two bites and pushed it away.

I'm interested to hear about other's favorite "finds" at various resorts. Anyone ever try key lime pie at OKW? I'm curious to hear how it rates b/c I DO LOVE key lime pie and am thinking of trying it on our next visit.

The Chicken Pepperpot soup and the African Stew in a Bread Bowl at Mara in AKL are two things that I must have each trip.

Every so often, I crave a Hawaiian Pork Sandwich from Captain Cook's at the Polynesian.

Bummer on the beignet's - we were thinking of trying them in May - however we are close to New Orleans and I can always go to Cafe Du Monde for the real thing maybe I should just leave the beignet's alone at POFQ - LOL Thanks for the heads up.

At the Mara - excellent fish and chips, breakfast wraps, and chicken pizza.

At the Mara (AKL) in the grab and go check out the Zebra domes and Paw Print Brownies, also the turkey wraps and mixed greens salad are good.

DS absolutely loves the hockey puck at ESPN at Boardwalk.

Burgers and shakes (or anything else) at Beaches & Cream at the Beach Club are great.
