Hi Everyone,

We are making our second trip to WDW this year with our son who is 3.5 years old. Last November before his 3rd birthday was his first trip and we found we enjoyed non-park activities as much as park activities. We stayed at AKL and FW Cabins last year and really enjoyed the African Culture sessions at AKL and the day/night savanna viewing at AKL and the pony rides, Chip & Dale Campfire, fishing, bike riding and outdoor movies at FW.

This year we have 8 days split between FW Cabins and CSR and will have a car. Any activities at FW, CSR or any other resorts that you recommend?

Thanks!

I think AKL has the best activities so I'd go there to enjoy your favorites and do any you missed when you were last there. My kids loved the cookie decorating, and the bead activity, and parade around the resort they let the kids participate in. The community hall at Kidani also has great activities for kids, but there is a fee for some of them. It's a great spot for a break and there are toys and games and coloring pages to enjoy.

Movies on the beach are also great fun. We like to go to the Poly beach. While viewing the movie, they will pause it so you can watch the electrical water parade, and then pause the movie again for the fireworks. It's a great free activity!

Another thing we all enjoy as a family is renting a Pontoon boat from the CR. I buy lunch and we enjoy it out on the lake. My kids loved this when they were little & still enjoy it.

Some resorts, like POFQ have really nice playgrounds. We like to visit there for lunch & some beignets and let our DS run around the playground.

Hope these suggestions help! We really love our non park time at the resorts!

My boys were a little older but I think my daughter might have been around 4 (you'd have to ck age requirements)....we've done the Pirate cruise 2x. Once out of BC (just boys) and once out of GF (all 3 went), but there were kids with no siblings and they had a blast!

CSR has a nice lake and they do have boats to rent. Playground is nice.

I'd go back to AKL too...my kids loved it and in fact we are planning a meal there just to take it all in with our littlest one.

We've also rented a boat out of Poly and kids loved it.

AoA is where we are booked in ONE week....so excited:cool1:. supposedly has a cool playground/water area...(excited for my 2 year old) but that might be considered pool hopping and it's frowned upon, but you could ck to see if playground is something worth taking ride over. The pictures of the the different sculptures (not sure what to call them) around this resort also look amazing and I can't wait to do some family pictures so that might be fun.

You'll love CSR (Pepper Market is fun) and pool is great and kids loved slide.
