Favorite relaxing classical song

I sing alto. I haven't done much singing since high school, but I still really miss it :(. My husband got his music ministry degree from SW Baptist Theological Seminary here in Fort Worth. The school has an excellent 150+ member chorus made up of students and singers from the community, and they perform with the Fort Worth Symphony. DH was in the choir, so I was fortunate enough to get to attend several performances during his years there.

You should sing again! The same thing happened to me. After school, I couldn't find a choir I really liked, so there was a lull. Last year, I got plugged into the local choral scene in a big way. I never knew how much I missed it. I'm a Soprano, btw.....:D

If you can find a group you like, go for it!

Any of Chopin's Nocturnes, especially Nocturne in E Flat Major

That is my favorite! I love the Nocturnes....

And yet another vote for Canon in D. I just turned it on. I must have sbout 5-6 different versions of this piece. Another favorite is Toccata and Fugue in D minor by Bach, albeit not very relaxing. But, I love it.

Coming in late her, by my favorite "lower your blood presure" music is Mozart second movements. Almost any second movement to his symphonies or concertos will do. Here is a great album of just Mozart Adagios (slow movements):

Mozart Adagios
