We are going to Disney World with three children, we've been twice in the past year without the kids (my nieces and nephews) & ate at many places, but never had a true HATE towards any that I can recall... BUT

I have already scheduled all of our reservations.... then I found this site and have been reading numerous reviews and starting to second guess myself on many of them... I just want to pick good places to eat with the kids and many even a few places with characters! Chef Mickeys was okay - characters were the only added touch to my memory.

Instead of asking for your WORST places, what are you FAVORITE places to eat at? Where have you been many times?

Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner suggestions MORE THAN WELCOME!!!

Thanks!!! Just trying to make the trip memorable, in a good way. :)

First, remember to take every single review with a grain of salt. A big, big grain of salt. I just read a review where the person in question felt that Artist Point was their least favorite meal of the trip - DH and I felt it was one of the best meals of our lives, let alone that one trip. Meanwhile, they loved Flying Fish and we will most likely not be going back. To each their own. You can't base your own experience on what others say.

What have you made reservations for?

DH and I are huge fans of Kona and Ohana, for any meal of the day. Otherwise we love California Grill, Narcoosee's, Artist Point, had fun at Hoop De Doo and the food wasn't bad either.

Well, we are going with kids so our reservations are a little more kid friendly on this trip. We have reservations at Hoop dee doo, Chef Mickeys, 50s prime time (thought it'd be fun exper. for kids), nine dragons (boyfriends request), crystal palace (good characters), Ohana breakfast (Lilo is a favorite), Boma (never been heard it's breakfast is fabulous; hope they are right), rainforest cafe and t-rex cafe (t-rex because the oldest is a 8 year old boy). :D

Last trip, we enjoyed Chef Mickeys and that was either because the food was good or because we were using the free dining plan! The characters are a good group for kids, but chef mickeys reviews are either REALLY good or bad. Have you all ever been there? What do you think?

Also, I am very open to changing my reservations around, so please look at the reservations I have listed and tell me things you do and do not like about each. We are going to Crystal Palace for breakfast and dinner and would love to change that if you know of any places to suggest we try!!! Thanks so much! :)

Hey there Nicole!

Let see ... our favorite places to eat ... GOT IT!!!

--- Breakfast ---

Toss-up between Akurshus in Norway and Cape May at The Beach Club

--- Lunch ---

Sci-Fi Dine-In

--- Dinner ---

Undoubtedly, undeniably, certifiably ... OHANA at THE Polynesian Resort

If you have ANY questions or concerns about these restaurants or ANYTHING ... just let me know and I'll do a write up for you!!! BTW, DON'T second guess yourself on any of your choices! If YOU want to do something then you need to do it! These are just MY suggestions and I LOVE them but you may not. If you cancel a reservation you had in favor of something else because of somebody's review ... you may end up regretting it ... and regrets are souvenirs nobody wants to bring home!!!

Take Care and Be Safe!!!

Thanks! We're eating at a few of the places you listed, couldnt get any reservations at sci-fi. We're going July 30-August 6th at staying at CBR (saw you're headed there too and that youve been in July alot) we've never been in the heat of summer, hope it isnt too bad! :)

Hoop De Doo will be fun for the kids for sure. And like I said, the food's good. I have found Chef Mickey's to be way too loud, dirty and slow and probably won't be going back - but it's a fun experience for the kids. I've heard that Boma's breakfast is awesome, too - their dinner is great, I'm sure they are just as good in the AM. Ohana for breakfast will be really fun - Stitch had me cracking up when we went last year.

Have been to WDW several times. All but once during the summer because I am a teacher. We will be going back this July. We live in the south so we are used to the heat and humidity. Plan on getting to the parks early, taking an afternoon break and heading back to the parks in the evening. If the kids say they are tired - listen to them. As far as our favorite restaurants:

breakfast- Kona Cafe,Tusker House
lunch- 50s Prime Time Cafe, Liberty Tree Tavern
dinner- Sanaa
Dinner Show- HDDR ( We did this last year with our whole family- 9 of us ages 7 mnths to 50) One of the best experiences we've ever had at WDW

Hope this helps.

here's our favorites :

Breakfast :
1. Tusker House : hands down THE best
2. Crystal Palace : a close second for sure....Tusker gets 1st for the juice alone ! :rotfl:
3. Akershus : fantastic character experience and even better cheesy potatoes !!

Lunch:
1. Grand Floridian Cafe : the hamburger w/ the lobster on top is AWESOME ! :woohoo:
2. Columbia Harbor House : yeah, it's a counter service, but it's really very good food

Dinner :
1. Cinderella's Castle : you'll hear mixed reviews... it's one of our favorites. There's something magical about eating in a castle.....
2. Flying Fish : our biggest surprise last trip... this was WONDERFUL !!! (and a future "must do"
3. Narcoosee's : another wonderful dinner
4. Coral Reef : loved the food.... wait for a table to open right next to the tank. it's worth it.... it kept our DD entertained THE entire time ! plus, you can't beat the atmosphere. another must do for us.

whatever you choose, make your own memories !! :yay: Have a wonderful time !!!

One thing to keep in mind with kids is that WHERE they eat is much more important than WHAT they eat. You didn't mention ages but mine are 3,9,14 (all girls). We got to where we'd ask them where they'd like to eat and the answers alot of times surprised us.........what impresses adults alot of times doesn't impress them. Now CRT is a no-brainer......it's the Castle!! T-Rex and Rainforrest are so unique and there is so much to see that they are absolute MUST.....where else can they eat a meal with a t-rex looking over them snarling :thumbsup2 . One other place they like to eat is the Columbia Harbor House in MK.....they love to eat upstairs at one of the tables by the window that overlooks the flower boxes. They also really liked the GF Cafe....when we go there we tend to go mid-afternoon when the place is almost vacant, the staff is great and my kids love the overall atmosphere. One last place would be Cosmic Rays.....I personally didn't think much of it but my two younger daughters love getting a table near the piano and watching Ray play some tunes. Being an adult I tended to look at this as being "cheesy" but to young kids it is really cool and afterall we go for them not us.

We aren't big breakfast people but we LOVED Kona for breakfast!

at MK we only eat at Columbia House, excellent CS
Crystal Palace is very good for a TS

HS I don't care for any of the CS so we do a resort instead for lunch
for a TS we've done Hollywood & Vine and it's pretty good

Epcot we LOVE Chefs de France for lunch, Le Cellier is very good for a nice TS. It can be very crowded at times and can run slow. We missed Illuminations last trip because our reservation was running 45 min behind.

AK is our least fav part so we're there only to ride a few things and get out.
We LOVE LOVE Artist Point, Ohanas, ESPN Club, Grand Floridian Cafe', The Wave just to name a few resort places. Artist Point has been the best meal and service so FAR...can't say enough about them. :cloud9:
