Favorite places to eat OUTSIDE of the parks?

In DTD I really enjoy Catal's. But, for a choice out of the resort. Just down Harbor is an excellant Italian restaurant called "Bucca de Beppo". I highly recommend this one.

Interested in Bucca de Beppo - don't see this one mentioned much and we really like the look of it.

Also I have seen Garden Walk on the map so I know where it is - is it walkable, do you think? (no small children with us BTW)

I would have to be the vote of dissention against Buca de Beppo. We have one here in Seattle, and I think it's pretty awful. It's LOUD as can be, and the food is (in my opinion) mediocre at best. You get lots of it, but there are many more choices in the area with better food / atmosphere.

I have been to the one in Anaheim (against my will! ) and none of would return. Sorry.

Actually I would say the closest is the one on Harbor, it's right across the street next to the Millie's.

Duh, you're right. I was forgetting that one since it's usually pretty busy. We used to hit the one on Ball. on our way to DLR. The one on Harbor is pretty good and you can usually pick up a coupon in one of the hotel lobbies.

I don't agree with that. We like Olive Garden. Then again, we're vegetarian so there isn't much we can get at OG. But they don't mess up what we get (and we LOVE their salad even if my guys have to avoid the croutons b/c of ingredient issues), unlike BDB's sad sad marinara.

That's probably fair. To be honest, I haven't visited in OG in years so maybe my comparison wasn't completely on the mark...but I seem to recall feeling like I was eating pre-cooked, frozen pasta. But again, it's been ages. BDB is a much more recent experience in my mind.

I will say that for sure, BDB's atmosphere is far, far worse OG's.

Ah yes - familiar with Olive Garden - we went to the one in Leicester Square London last month - my DD is veggie too and she enjoyed the pasta with marinara sauce.

I would say that yes, GW is walkable with no small children. I've walked similar distances and while it may not be fun after walking around DL all day it is doable. It's not that far away. There are always taxis right out in front of DL tho, if you didn't want to walk you could grab a ride very easily.

I like OG, we go there when DD22 comes home to visit. We liked BDB too but we have only eaten at the one in Pittsburgh near the airport. The portions were huge and it was good, nothing majorly delish but good. Wow, that must have been.....oh man.......6 or 7 years ago now.

I grew up in CA until I got married and moved to Arkansas.... but the best Italian I have ever had is Luigi's D Italia in Anaheim. This was our "go to" place growing up and it is amazing!! It is located on State College blvd, about 2 miles down Ball Rd and turn left on State College. Trust me you will not be disapointed. The family is from Italy and they are the best. I know it is pricey but if you want a nice quiet meal, Roy's is to die for. DH & I have gone twice and have not been disappointed. The wait staff makes you feel so welcome (Hawaiian Ohana). Your water glass never gets less than half full and they always are helpful. If you need suggestions and they are right on.

As far as walking, it is a pretty easy walk but we went after being at DL all day with not much of a break. Our feet were tired by the time we got to Roy's. The walk home (DLH) was nice but we were so tired by the time we got to our door, it didn't take long to crash. Plus a MM the next morning was not planned very well. ;>)

DTD-my vote is Brennan's Jazz Kitchen not the express (unless it is for Beignets). The dishes there are tasty and I love the service and atmosphere, more inside than outside lately and we always make ressie's. ESPN zone is good but it is overpriced and sometimes the service is slow.

In N Out my #1 favorite ya hoo! But I like getting my food inside the park. It's a little pricey but deffinately worth it. The cheese pizza I got at Village Haus Restraunt in Fantasyland OH MY GOD SO SO SO GOOD!!! & The chicken ceasar salad at Red Rocket's Pizza Port & those delicious classic Dole Whips!!! ALL SOOOOOOO GOOOOD!!!!

We are going to Disneyland in a week! What are some of your favorite places to eat outside of the parks?

Denny's right outside the park is pretty good. I ate there once and they had some pretty good food at a decent price (considering where we were).

You should give it a whirl.

We LOVED Tortilla Jo's and the Rainforest Cafe.

But, we all got food poisoning after eating at ESPN Zone (which was a shame, because it tasted great!)

The things I liked about ESPN Zone are the fact that they had a good selection on the menu, the food was a very generous portion (I was stuffed just from the appetizer), it was tasty and our service was fantastic (Amy was the server and she was really on top of things). I didn't feel the prices were any more unreasonable than anything at RFC or anywhere else in DLR, relative to what you order, really. What I did not like about ESPN Zone is the lemonade (awful), the wait to be seated (very, very long) and the noise level - lots of noise everywhere; it is very busy. But we didn't get food poisoning! (In fact, more than a couple of folks have reported getting sick fomr Tortilla Jo's food, while other people love it there!) We loved our ESPN Zone food and service and the prices were what we expected.

So, as I always say, whenever this topic of restaurants comes up - it all boils down to people's individual tastes and preferences and the restaurants' 'off' days or 'on' days, which I think any restaurant can have. I cannot imagine disliking Rainforest Cafe, but I know there are folks who don't like it at all! And, of course, I enjoy Naples but there are plenty of people who don't like it at all!!

In-n- Out is a favorite of my boyfriend and I. He also says El Pollo Loco. (I've never been there so I can't say) Other than that we usually buy food in- park.
