In Hollywood/West Hollywood....
I *LOVE* Bossa Nova (
www.bossafood.com), It's sort of a Brazilian steak house...with a spectacular brushcetta and caprese appitizers, and their steaks, pasta and desserts are also very good. They have a pretty extensive menu with steaks, chicken, pizza, pasta, salads, and more...everyone I've ever taken there has found something they liked.
There are 3 locations, one on Sunset Blvd (it's across the street from a strip club, so if you have younger kids be warned!), one on Beverly Blvd (has a brunch buffet during the week), and one on Robertson in West Hollywood.
The Saddle Ranch on Sunset Blvd (there's is also one at Universal's Citywalk), is very yummy - great steaks - and the first mechanical bull in L.A.
There's also a pretty good selection of restraunts at City Walk, but be warned you'll have to pay at least $10 for parking (more for valet $22 or preferred $20) if your driving. Restraunts in Citywalk: Bucca Di Beppo, Cafe Tu Tu Tango, Bubba Gumps Shrimp Co, Camacho's Cantina, Tony Romas, Daily Grill(comfort food), Hard Rock Cafe, Wolfgang Puck's Cafe, Saddle Ranch Chop House, Karl Strauss Brew Garden, Wasabi (Sushi), Panda Inn (not sure when it's opening though...), Panda Express, Subway, KFC Express, Pizza Hut Express, Puccino' Pizzeria, Tommy Burger, Dodger Dogs, and a fast food mexican style restraunt I believe...there could be a few more, but that's all I remeber off the top of my head.
Also at The Grove/L.A.'s Farmer Market: Marmalde Cafe has a wonderful selection, great service and very fresh ingredients...and they're wonderful about special orders...(I'm a picky eater...)(

Of course there's always an In-N-Out burger
