I just want to get a idea of some of your favorites or the value and moderate resorts? We were wanting to stay at AoA in a LM room but they are ALL SOLD out for the time we'd be going August 4-10th. SO I was wondering what are your faves of value and moderate resorts and the reasons why? Bus? Pools? Food courts? Etc...etc....

Trying to decide what other resort we'd want to stay at for comparable costs. It will be 3 of us and we want the DDP all 3 are at the adult DDP prices.

TIA.

If you really wanted AoA why not stay at Pop and walk over to visit? That would be your closest option and we really liked Pop when we went.
It doesn't share buses and has a decent food court. Just a thought :).

If you really wanted AoA why not stay at Pop and walk over to visit? That would be your closest option and we really liked Pop when we went.

I think that might be our best option and then MAYBE just maybe we could do a split stay? I am thinking of maybe doing the suite of course I don't want to spend a lot for the resort when we will spend so much more time at the parks.
Thanks for your advice.

Pop really is nice. We stayed at a Value the first time we were onsite and I think it's just fine. Pop's buses weren't bad. the theming was cool--my kids loved the big iconic figures and we spend most of our time in the parks also.

If you wanted a moderate we really liked POR also. The worst thing about them was the buses--not that we had long waits but they were really congested and no line to speak of so people would just walk in front of you even if you had been waiting.

We like Port Orleans for the moderate level. There is so much to do there. ASSp, we will be staying here this summer, is undergoing refurbishment. Each room is being completely overhauled, paint, carpeting, beds etc. My family also like ASMu. With All Stars you can use any of the pools at the three resorts. At Port Orleans you can use the amenities at either resort. The multiple bus stops don't bother us. The deluxe resorts also have multiple bus stops, too. All of the resorts I mentioned, have different offerings at each of the food courts. Allowing for plenty of variety. For example, POR has create your own pasta and a turkey chef dinner. POFQ has begniets and a pot roast chef dinner.

If you are looking to book under the sale, POFQ is not a good bet as the prices for this resort are higher than other moderates.

i've never stayed at a value, but I hear good things about Pop. As for the Mods, I've stayed at all of them except for CSR (but i've visted CSR) and for us, the winner hands down was POR. POR has great, tranquil theming, a good pool, a great food court and lots of fun activities. Also the boat to DTD is a great relaxing option. It just feels like home to me. If you were going mod, I would HIGHLY recommend POR!

My family has stayed at POR Riverside, Coronado Springs, and the Poly. We loved the Poly the best but as far as Mod Res go we loved POR the best. The grounds of the hotel are beautiful and relaxing. Some people complain about the walk but we did not find it bad, you walk a lot while in Disney anyway. We found CS to be a little bit run down and the staff at the food court were rude. Overall I think POR is the best Mod Resort.

I would call Disney and see how many days are available during your stay. LM is not part of the room discount promotion.
Maybe you can split it with a moderate under the sale and explore both.
I hear wonderful things about Port Orleans Riverside!

Thanks, I never thought to call disney, I keep checking online instead. I am seeing lots of people saying they love POR for a resort.
Oh and yes I am aware that LM was and isn't part of the summer deals, I am almost seriously considering the suites but I dunno....it is a lot of money esp when it is just 3 of us.

It is a lot of money! Especially since you are getting only one real bed in a suite and the rest are pull outs! Plus do you really need 2 bathrooms? That is a personal preference.

We have stayed at POP several times and love it. We love the icons, the food court, and the eras. We have also stayed POR and CBR and liked them both too. It's nice to have a water slide and the mods seem less crowded due to the layout I am guessing. We are trying CSR in June. The pool looks great and I love the sliding door blocking off the sink from the bed area in the room. Make a room request no matter where you stay. That helps with the walking at the resorts and helps them know your wishes. Good luck!

We've never stayed at a Value and only at one Moderate, which was CSR. We REALLY enjoyed it, loved the pool, and the location. We stayed in Casitas, bldg 4 I believe because it was right next to a bus stop...and I loved the variety of the food court. This was in 2006 though so I don't know how much the food court has changed. Since then we've only stayed Deluxe, BUT if we go this year it'll be POR because we've never been and I hear alot of good things about it.

I'm also dying to stay in a LM room!

Value: Pop
I haven't stayed at the other value hotels, but I like the theming of Pop better. The buses have always been great when I've stayed there, and the food court is huge, with lots of variety and plenty of tables.

Mod: Port Orleans Riverside
POFQ is a close second. Both are wonderfully themed with BEAUTIFUL grounds. POR comes out just ahead because the food court is fantastic, with lots of variety and make your own pasta and salad stations (POFQ food court was just too small, without enough options). I also thought the interior of the rooms (stayed in the Mansions, but not the Royal Rooms) at POR looked nicer.

We almost cacelled our LM room in August to take advantage of the room promotion and stay at POR. The Cm told me to make sure thats what we wanted to do since AOA LM is sold out and we wouldnt be able to switch back!

For room alone, I prefer the rooms at POP over LM. The themeing is cute in the LM rooms, but for space use, they are terrible.
In LM, the mirror over the sink is smaller and there is no shelf below so all toiletries have to be stored on that small sink counter making it quite cluttered.
The table in the room at LM is smaller than POP. At POP, we could have two laptops open and still have room on the table, at LM we could only have one. (To answer why we would need two computers on a vacation, when we visit Disney, it is part of a larger trip. We are away from home for a month a time visiting other areas, so we need to keep up with bills, mail, etc and while at Disney, we usually only have about an hour each day for two of us to do that). At LM only one laptop fit.
The cabinet with the drawers, TV, and mini-fridge has less top surface space at LM than at POP making it hard to empty pockets at night or even store munchies, etc.
Also, LM rooms (especially the Ariel building) are so far away from the food court and buses. In fact the Ariel building is almost next to the end 50's building at POP.
If I were ever to stay at AoA again, it would be in a suite - but for that price, I could almost stay at a deluxe.

We are not fans of the values, but have stayed at Pop multiple times, AS Sports twice, and AS Music once. Of those, I choose Pop, I guess.

We have also stayed in all four moderates more than once. CSR would easily be our favorite, followed closely by POFQ.

For a value resort, I would have to say the All Star Music. It is very pretty at night with the lights they have on the buildings.

For a moderate, my favorite would have to be POR. It is so pretty and relaxing, it is a great change of pace from the craziness of the parks. Plus they have the best food court and a great gift shop. Though I like CSR and POFQ too.:goodvibes

Hi, we are also arriving on Aug. 4 for 11 nights. We have stayed at Pop 3 times in the past and loved it but it was crazy busy and loud. This time we are staying at All Star Music for a change. I have read that it is usually quieter than the other values and all the amenities are the same anyways. At this busy time of year the All Stars do not share buses usually. Also, our total cost for the hotel was around $150 less than Pop and Movies and around $350 less than a LM room at AOA (no discound) so that is also something to consider if you go for the values.
Have a magical vacation!:)
