Favorite "non-traditional" souvenir

I buy a Christmas ornament each time we visit (which isn't often enough).

We do too! Actually, we buy several ornaments every trip. I also pick up a new piece of jewelry or watch in WDW.

I've got my eye on the pearls in Japan, but so far DH thinks the pearls I have are just fine. :rotfl:

YES! Another antenna topper freak!

We were at DTD in early February and I saw the holiday pack of toppers...dh made fun of me for liking them and I wasn't amused. :sad2: A few hours later he asked me if I wanted them for Valentine's day. He felt bad for laughing at me so it worked out in the end! :rotfl: Now I have 6 for the different holidays! Dh has and has had for some time the "Sorcerer Mickey" one on his SUV.

LOL Chalk another one up on the Atenna topper bandwaggon! lol My entire family has either black mickey ears, Stitch ones, or American Flag ones. We tend to switch them every so often to. It makes finding your car easier, even at Disney, when you have Stitch growling at you from your car!

Non-traditional stuff:
- Watches
- Personalized Fans from the World Showcase (either Japan or China and they write your name on it in either Japanese or Chinese)
- Okay it's not untraditional but stuffed animals for decorative purposes. We have a whole wall of Stitch at our place. :D
- Bookbags - We got this great little pleather one for my little cousin on our last trip down there. It has Mickey on the part that folds over the top to buckle. She loves it and shows her friends her "Magical Bag." Lol They must be magical though, she goes through bookbags like mad and this one has lasted her 3 years!

On a side note. Does anyone ever walk into a Disney store and think,"WOW! There is so much junk in here..." And have a serious problem weeding out something a child OR an adult would like? Or better yet, try finding something (clothing does not count) that is actually useful! I think it's impossible besides what people have already listed!

My DD15 has been talking about these. The varsity cheerleaders in her school went to nationals and they all came home with these bags. I hope they have them in June when we go because I dont think she will shutup!! :rotfl: She also got Eeyore slippers when she was at DL and we looked all over WDW the next year and couldnt find them anywhere!!

Hey what stores did you find this purse in ? Sounds like something my college age daughter's might like .

I got my wallet at the store on MS where the little cinema used to be where they showed the Mickey cartoons. They had a lot of different bags in there when we went. I also saw some at DTD and EPCOT Mouse Gears.

When I visited DW as a kid (and actually, still today), I was (and still am) in awe of the CM's...they had the coolest jobs, worked in the most wonderful place on earth, and had personal nametags! On our last trip to DW, we were in MGM and I saw that you could get "Guest of Honor" nametags. You may have been able to do this for years, but I never knew it. To look at me jump around and say to my DH, "Please? I gotta have one!", you'd think I'd reverted back to my preschool years! But I've got it, and I'm looking at it right now as it sits on my shelf at school with my WDW marble paperweight that I got in the 70's when I was a child. I call it my "happy shelf".

My favorite non-traditional gift was from our last trip this past Feb. We bought all four panoramic photos of each park. I still have to get them framed, but when our new house is finished being built, I plan to hang them proudly in our family room.

Our next trip in June we plan to purchase bathroom accessories for our hall bath, the ones of Mickey's hand and shoe and stuff. I also plan to buy this wall clock for my kitchen.

We do always buy a Christmas ornament too.

My favorite Disney souvenir is my magic rock from the magic store on Main St.
It is a foam rock that obviously looks real. By far my favorite. It brings back many memories as well.

Always get a mini-snow globe when I go. Antenna toppers aer good and I use them on my wheelchair controller. Also an Italian charm or 2

Well, I have read through all of them and no one mentioned one my all time favorites@!
In Norway, one of the gift shops sells perfume/cologne... I have seen the ladies mentioned in this thread... but oh man...
they guys is to die for!
It is called Gier... oh man...
hubby wears it all the time for me! I love it!
In fact, picking some up for a friend of mine on this coming trip.. everytime hub wears it, she is always asking what are you wearing? wear did you get it? getting some for her.. well actually for her hubby but really for her! haha!

cant wait for him to get home so i can smell him! lol!

Well, I finally bought mine at DWD in the HUGE store there (World of Disney)
but I saw them all over...I believe in the Emporium at MK and I know I saw them in the POP gift store several times while I was there. They tend to be around the more fashionable shirts (non t-shirts that is) in the stores. They are soooo cute. I had a hard time picking out which one to get. Almost bought two but controlled myself!!!! :teeth:

I love all my WDW tees, mugs, key chains. I used to buy a snowglobe on each trip, but I ran out of room & couldn't find anymore "must haves". I ended up with a watch instead, that I love. It has Mickey and the 4 park icons on the face. I bought the panoramic poster of the MK, but haven't hung it yet. I have some of the attraction posters (HM, POC, SW) that I can't wait to decorate my home office with. I also have a HM shelf in my office that has most of my HM souveniers (along with my "Skippy" plush from AE and my Ms. Potato Head). I think some of my most treasured souveniers are the cds with the park music and the dvds with park footage that we bought. Brings me back, but not close enough....I wanna go now!!!!

I have a little CZ Mickey Mouse initial ring that I wear every day. You can't tell it has a Mickey Mouse face on it unless you look really closely.

Another one I have is a Mickey Mouse italian charm. Same story as the ring...it's very subtle. :)

Yeah, I love my MM necklace that has my name on it. It's really cute.

I'm not completely sure that this falls into that category, but for the longest time I have always brought home a mug...not your run-of-the-mill brightly colored WDW mug, but something a bit more obscure or artsy - like the ones that look as if a painting turned into a mug. I have an absolute TON of them, and when we throw holiday dinners, or have general company, they make a great conversation piece over coffee and we inevitably always end up telling our WDW stories! Plus, I always love thinking about our trips when I use them at home!! :goodvibes

That's a great idea!
