I am taking my two girls (9, 6) to Orlando next week and we are staying at my favorite non-WDW resort, Bonnet Creek. I want to take them out to dinner a few nights. I have already booked Kona Cafe. I would appreciate some other ideas similar to Kona -- more casual than formal. They have good restaurant behavior but would at least like something that is kind of interesting to them (waterside, relaxed ambiance, nearby activity after dinner, etc). I may book a character meal for bfast, but want some other ideas too.

Thanks!!

Some of our good, easy meals are at Boatwrights, ESPN, and Olivia's Cafe.

Boatwrights is on of my favorites. Love their Tuna Poke. I may book it just for that!! :lovestruc

Trails End Buffet!
Definitely a relaxed casual atmosphere and Ft Wilderness is the best! Rocking chairs outside the restaurant, hula hoops for the kids. Plus the food is great!

Great idea! I have always wanted to go to FW. Thanks for reminding me. :teeth:

I clicked on your thread in order to suggest Kona Cafe or 'Ohana, but you clearly already know those! Have you ever tried HDDR at Fort Wilderness? SO MUCH FUN! 1900 Park Fare is also a hoot with the stepmother and -sisters. I have never personally been but have heard great things about Grand Floridian Cafe...or how about Beaches & Cream?

We have done Ohana and 1900 and CM and love them all. I may do Ohana again for bfast. I just love the Poly in general!

Have not done HDDR. Looks so fun!!

I did the GFC about 20 years ago and was bored silly, but that was a long time ago. I will look again. I think B&C would be a great idea. They love ice cream, of course. I will check into that one!!

Look into HDDR. They are great ages for it. In fact, eveyone is a great age for it. My family insists on going every time, it is our favorite meal everywhere, not just in WDW. GFC is not in and of itself interesting, but it is in the beautiful GF and I'm sure before and after you could find stuff to do, like ride a boat or monorail, a hidden mickey hunt around the grounds, watch the EWP or fireworks, etc.

Thats good to hear. I will research it and see if we can fit it into the budget. I guess its good that they are child prices! I do love doing things at Disney that i have't done before.

You are right about the GF. Its a gorgeous place!!
