Favorite Non-Buffet Character Meal

I'm looking for ideas for our upcoming trip. We want to do a couple of character meals but prefer ones that aren't buffets (I know that limits my options a bit). We have 'Ohana breakfast on our list and want to do one more.

Would love to hear what other people's favorite non-buffet cm is.

CRT and Alkershus are both good for breakfast.

For me it was the Akershus breakfast. Food was delicious and character interaction was great! Plus the meal came with 2 free photos of us with Belle.

Garden Grill all the way!!!!

we love that you can see the big cheese himself in a quiet controlled atmosphere... the high backed booths really make you feel like the only ones in the place... character interaction is always top-notch (w/no guests from other tables calling "mickey! mickey!" when it's your turn LOL), and the food is above-average (and plentiful) to boot!

I agree with the previous poster.....Garden Grill!

It is our very favorite character meal. The character interaction is amazing....every time we have eaten there, most of the characters have come to our table twice. They spend more time with you then any other character meal we have experienced. And there really is something about the way the tables are arranged that make you feel like you have a more private meeting with them. In places like Chef Mickey's, I always feel like the characters are rushed, and that other people are watching us...even taking pictures of the characters while they are with us. That does not happen at Garden Grill. And the food is great as well!

I will absolutely agree with this! We love GG. We were visited twice by the characters (Pluto actually sat down with us during his second visit and pretended to help himself to some dinner! My kids thought it was hysterical!) and the food is really good too. It was our second best meal during our last trip, and we were there for 11 days!

Just keep in mind, that Akershus is part buffet, part family style if that makes a difference...

We've never done Garden Grill so I'm going to look into that one. Question -- does the restaurant still spin? I ate there as a kid when it wasn't a cm and I remember it rotated.

I'm debating between CRT and Akershus too -- dd loves the princesses!

yes it still rotates... but so slowly that you can barely tell 'cept for the moving scenery

Thanks for the info! I remember as a kid how fun it was looking in the little window of the farmhouse from The Land when we rotated to that part.

Akershus. The "buffet" portion is really more like a tricked out salad bar (but oh, what a salad bar!), the entrees are all tasty, the princesses are a treat, and the CMs have always been great.

Options are limited...We have boys so the princess thing is not an option at all...

Ohana for breakfast and Garden Grill for dinner are on our list every trip now
