Favorite Movie Scenes -- Musicals

I have 2

1. Sound of music " good night song" sung by the kids...so long farewell.etc...I love the little girl sitting on the steps at the end...

2. Chitty-chitty bang bang bamboo dance at the fair!

I love, although not an actually song, when Maria is teaching Kurt how to waltz out on the terrace, and the Captain steps in and dances with her in "The Sound of Music".

Also, anything in Footloose, and the bar scene with "Crazy for You" in Vision Quest.

Can't get one of the Rocky Horror Picture Show song out of my mind, especially in the early part of the movie where Dr. Frankenfurter(sp) whips off his clothes and reveals his ugh ... outfit. Of course "Time Warp."

.
That is so funny! I have to giggle anytime someone references RHPS! I was formerly a cast member.. a long long long time ago...

"Sadie, Sadie - Married Lady" from Funny Girl
"Consider Yourself" - Oliver
"Hello Dolly" from Hello Dolly.

Those are my fav scenes from musicals but I also love almost every number from the King and I and R & H's Cinderella - the original not the Whitney Houston remake.

My favorite is the barn dance scene in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. I love that movie!

This is my favorite too !!!

one of my favorite scenes from movie musicals is from the movie "Fiddler on the Roof" when the star of the movie version "Topol" dances up in the hayloft while singing "If I We're A Rich Man".

I am also quite fond of the scene in the Wizard of Oz when the cowardly lion (bert lahr) sings :"If I We're King of the Forest"

Two of mine have already been said... Singin' in the Rain, and the barn raising scene from Seven Brides.

Also:

Make 'em Laugh from Singin' in the Rain.

Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

Just about anything from White Christmas.

I Got Rythem from An American in Paris.

One of my favorites is in Rocky Horror. The one where he makes a man, and sings kind of an ode to him. I love that part!:bounce:

Many of my favorites have already been listed. I also love "Old Man River" from Showboat and I love a lot of the scenes in Fiddler on the Roof including "Matchmaker, matchmaker" and "Sunrise, sunset". I also loved it when Tevye was looking at one of his daughters from afar and mulling over them growing up. Tradition!!! ;)

"The King and I" when the children are presented. I love that piece of music and the look of the set and decore and the way the scene is presented all with no words.

"One day more" from Les Mis
Les Miserables has to be the best musical of all time 'Lovely Ladies' & 'Master of the House' always makes me grin. One day more is soooo touching.

ANYTHING from Sound of Music.

America in West Side Story.

Saddest Disney moment is in Dumbo...the song "Baby Mine".:(

White Christmas from well White Christmas. It just isn't Christmas until we've watched that movie! Especially love the part when they open the barn doors and see the snow finally falling.

Ditto anything from White Christmas. Also "Trouble" from Music Man" and anything from Singing in the Rain and most of Rocky Horror.
Here's one that's a little more obscure--in "Naughty Marietta" (which is an old Nelson Eddy-Jeanette McDonald musical for all you youngsters, not a porno, despite the title)--the scene where Jeanette McDonald thinks she has lost Nelson Eddy at the party and sings "Ah Sweet Mystery of Life" and then goes to walk up the steps and Nelson Eddy starts singing it in the crowd. Totally awesome.
Robin M.

Hrrmmm....

SSB not too much on musicals... but did love "Moulin Rouge"...

So... how about "Elephant Love Medley"

Favorite musical scene is when Gaston comes back and asks for Gigi's hand in marriage and then the film cuts to Maurice Chevalier singing, "Thank Heaven for Little Girls."

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang - Hush a Bye Mountain! and all the others you have all listed.
