Favorite/most comfortable shoes for Disney

My vote goes to a combination of Crocs and Dr Sholls sports gel inserts ! A trick I read about here on the Dis many years ago !!

My feet always get very tired when walking the parks - or anywhere really. I have a sit down job and don't get to walk too much when I work. I also work 12 hour shifts so it's not like I can build up stamina by going for a walk after work or anything...

I have the older Mary Jane Crocs - they are a little like the basic one but smaller and less clunky. Then, to make them perfect, I added Dr Sholls sports inserts. They are like a gel insert but shaped (with arch and heel support).

My feet were awesome during the whole vacation !

My daughter wore her crocs (same Mary Jane type style) and her feet were bothering her after 2 days so we popped out to Walmart and bought her some Dr Sholls - and she was fantastic for the rest of the vacation.

One of the things I like about the crocs/gel inserts is that it lets your feet breathe. If it's hot, you don't get sweaty, if your feet get wet they dry easily (unlike running shoes with socks) so no worries about Kali or a sudden rain storm. You can kick them off easily for Soarin' or if you're just sitting on a park bench relaxing. They're so light, you can barely feel them on.

Crocs by themselves are good but if your feet are wet or sweaty, they can get slippery inside (your wet foot against the plastic). The gel inserts are covered in a lycra fabric so no sliperry feeling.

My personal favourite are Toms! They've got good support in them for my feet, they go well with shorts, pants, capris, and even dresses, and they come in like, a million different colours/styles! Great for Disneybounding too!

I stick with trusty rusty sneakers. Reeboks, specifically because they're the only ones that give me sufficient arch support. Typically, I prefer full leather sneakers for the extra support, but those are hard to find any more. My only complaint about the extra support is after a day of EPCOT, my pinky toes hurt. This time I'm trying a pair of mesh Asics (which I recently found out give me decent arch support) to see how it goes.

YES! That is where my blisters ALWAYS are, on my pinky toes. I have tried different shoes, different socks, different widths and it always happens. Usually not until the 2nd or 3rd day, it starts on the bottom and will sometimes cover my whole toe. I have even lost my pinky toe nail before. That's why I stick with my flops.

If I was brave enough, I'd wear my Crocs flip flops to tour the parks but I'm chicken. I'm afraid of stubbing my toes, or getting them run over/plowed into by a stroller. I'm thinking about wearing Keens this time, but I'm not sure if that'll help with the pinky toe pain/blister problem.

I just bought a pair of Merrell sandals. They are seriously the most comfortable sandals I've ever worn! The real test will come in less than 3 weeks at WDW! :) The only thing I don't like about them is that they aren't waterproof - I guess I can slip then in a plastic bag when I go on Splash.

I posted this story once before here on the DIS. I wear my beloved flip flops (OluKai Ohana's) to the parks every trip and the only time I've ever gotten them stepped on was once one morning during the rope drop stampede to Soarin. I was right behind the CMs that were walking us all over to Soarin, when a lady right behind me accidentally stepped on the back of my heel. I didn't fall, just stumbled a little and she quickly apologized, then made the comment that no way would she ever wear flip flops to WDW. As we kept rushing towad the Land Pavillion, I laughed and told her no way would I ever wear hot tennis shoes to WDW and my feet loved my OluKai's and never gave me any trouble and I never got blisters, plus my feet stayed cool. We both laughed and said 'Oh well to each their own". We happened to be sitting next to each other on Soarin and as I slipped my flip flops off, made the comment that I loved the cool air hitting your bare feet on Soarin. She said her feet were already hot and the day had just started. It just so happened that much later that day I was in line over in Japan to get a kaki gori, when I glanced over and saw that same lady sitting there on that concrete bench area right next to the kaki gori stand (right behind the Japanese temple). She had her tennis shoes off, was rubbing her feet, and was putting mole skin on several places. I got my kaki gori and walked over to sit next to her. She recognized me, just like I recognized her and asked how my poor feet were doing. I laughed and told her thank you, my feet were just fine, cool, comfortable, no redness, no soreness, no blisters, and apparently doing alot better than hers. She stopped rubbing her feet and said 'your feet aren't bothering you at all'. I told her nope and I'm overweight and have planter fasciitis. I also told her I wore tennis shoes one time down there and my feet killed me the whole week, so I swore never again. I can't wear cheapo flip flops down there, but good ones that give good support like my OluKai Ohana's I can wear all week with no problems. She took a good look at my nice cool comfortable feet and asked where she could get some, as her feet were killing her from her supposedly well broken in tennis shoes.:rotfl:

I'll be down there March 21st-31st and am taking two pairs of Cobian Bounce and one pair of OluKai Ohana's this trip. I haven't tried the Cobian Fiesta Bounce before, but if they are half as comfortable as my old Cobian Braided Bounces, I have absolutely no concerns about my feet. Now my calves, I expect to get sore and tired, but not my feet. These are the shoes I'm taking:
