Favorite Moment As A Dvc Member?

My Mom thought I was nuts to buy DVC. The first time I took her was at OKW in a 1 bedroom. The look on her face as she walked around the room was priceless. After she got home, she told everyone about our "apartment".

I can't wait for our December trip. We are staying in a Grand Villa, at OKW, but my DH doesn't know I got it yet. He thinks we have a 2BR. I can't wait to see his face (and mine too, since this is our first time in a GV)!!!

This past Oct was our first trip "home"! It took us 3yrs to get "home"
On our first day Im jumping & skipping saying "Im home, Im home, Im home!"
MIL said "Boy, you have lost it. Its very nice here but youre taking it to extremes"
Well after a day or so she said to me "Now that Ive heard Welcome Home from the CMs I understand what youre saying"

Our first trip home was December of 2000. We had booked a one bedroom at our Boardwalk home and got a Boardwalk view! I remember being out on the balcony that first night and watching all the action down on the Boardwalk and over to Epcot. It was a nice balmy night and back home it was snowing. I knew then and there that our decision to buy into DVC was the right one.

We have had many, many wonderful experiences since then and look to have many more in the future!

So far, it's been our Grand Gathering for mom's 85th birthday, but specifically, as we gathered in the living room, exchanging Christmas presents and singing Christmas carols, by the lights of the BWV DVC Christmas tree.

The first time I got to "share my story" with a curious person about DVC membership. OK...I was bragging...at the airport...to a Jersey guy. But hey, he was interested. He and his family were going to WDW and he noticed my DVC shirt and asked me about it. We spent 1/2 an hour talking while waiting for our flight. I had him convinced to go see a rep when he got there.

I wonder whatever happened to that guy?

So far it was yesterday when my guide called and said that we had our points at the Boardwalk. I had been waiting not so patiently on the waiting list for over two weeks. (I know that is not long but to me, an eternity!) When my guide called to tell me, I could have crawled through the phone and kissed her.....The great thing is, I feel great about my decision, I think waiting for the resort I wanted, BWV was the right decision. I know that many more favorite moments will be coming in the years to come.

After many "subtle" hints from the DW, we bought last year but not in time for our April trip. So in August, I said "air fares are cheap, how about we go to Disney for a few days?" I'd always said we'd go to Disney just one time (lost credibility after our 3rd or 4th trip) - this was two trips in a year!

Anyway, went to BWV and were just blown away by the luxury compared to PC and AS resorts. Plus walking to Epcot, the boats, everything.

Great, great, great. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Ooooooo I like this thread. We have one specific favorite moment on each of our DVC trips we've taken.

It comes at checkout time. If we've been careful enough, we get the bill delivered under our door that has a zero balance.......that's a thrill! LOL

Glad to hear you finally got them! :cool1:

I remember making our offer and finally passing ROFR and then getting our cards and calling for our first reservations! That whole first trip was great. (Not that they all aren't.)
