I've only stayed in Moderates at WDW. I have stayed at Caribbean Beach and at Coronado. I personally preferred the theming at CBR better but Coronado was quieter. Anyone else who has stayed at a couple of the Mods have a favorite and what makes them better or worse than the two above in your opinion? Looking to book something in the spring and was debating on which one. I have 2 DD's 3.5 and 1.5 yrs old.

:cool1: We stayed in the same two resorts in 2005 and 2006 repectively and enjoyed both. I liked Coronado better because of the pool and the nicer counter service dining. For our next trip we are thinking of splitting our stay between a moderate and the Poly. I'm glad you started this thread!:woohoo:

Just back from split stay, CSR/POR. POR was absolutely wonderful. We wish we'd have stayed there the entire visit....it's a real treat.

We just returned from a trip to CSR last month and it was fabulous! I can't say enough about this resort. The beautiful landscaping, the colorful buildings and everything is so pretty in the evening when the lights come on.

My kids love the pool the best. They spent hours on the slide.

The transit is the best I've experienced at WDW.

Everything was wonderful!

Thank you for the responses maybe we'll try one of the PO resorts for a change...Is there one you recommend more than the other with two small children?

POFQ! It is the smaller of the sister resorts and you can still use the facilities at POR if you needed to. Less walking for the little ones.

POFQ is definitely our family favorite. We stayed at CSR in October and none of us were that crazy about it.

I crave Port Orleans Riverside, but only in a king size bed catagory room, and I think I'd spring for water view, too. What can I say, I'm spoiled!

As to the why - landscaping, landscaping, landscaping. Magnolias, live oaks, cypress, it's wonderful. I like getting up in the morning and walking around when it's quiet and cool.

I have stayed at all buy Caribbean. In order, my favorites are Frnch Quarter, Riverside and Coronado.

I like POFQ the best because everything is close to everything else, the CMs there are great, the bus service is fantastic, the Mousekeepers do a great job and the grounds are beautiful.

Coronado would be my least favorite of the three because the resort is very spread out, we did not enjoy the food at Pepper Market at all and the staff at Pepper Market was rude.

We stayed in a corner room in building 5. Most of the courtyard and landscaping pictures are taken from around our room.

I love POR. Lovely theming.

My wife and I have stayed at all the MODs except POFQ (although we have visited it a few times).

Her favorite is CSR. Mostly for theming. Plus the only MOD where she got daily towel animals...

My favorite is POR. It is well themed. The boat to DTD is a great way to relax and a very nice trip down the Sasagula River. I like Old Man Island for the fishing hole, it is a good way to start a morning while everyone else is rushing to the parks. And, Boatwrights is a great resteraunt (try the pot roast). :thumbsup2

The only bad thing about POR is the bus system. You share a bus with POFQ, and the busses stop there first. On our last trip I was only able to sit twice on an 8 day trip. Three days, while trying to take a morning bus, we had to wait for another bus because they fill up first at POFQ. Kind of sucked.

The only down side

I agree. I've stayed at all but CBR and didn't care for the PO's because of the shared transportation.

We've stayed at POFQ and CBR. We definitely prefer POFQ. Love the theming and the size of the resort.

I've stayed at 2-POFQ (this year) and POR (In about 94). Both were great but definitely liked POFQ better. Smaller, great bus system, food court was great-good variety. Pool was excellent. I'd go back in a heart beat.
