One of my favorite memories of Disney was when I was younger and walking down Main Street. I saw Cinderella's Castle for the first time and I just stood in the middle of the street to stare at it because I had never seen anything like it before. :bitelip: :cutie:

Other favorite memories?

We took a family vacation in January along with my DD, SIL and DGD. One of my favorite memories is of my little 4 year old DGD dressed up in her Cinderella dress. She had just had a wonderful lunch with the Princesses, and was still mesmerized by the experience. We were waiting in front of the castle for the parade, and the man entertaining the crowds asked her along with 2 other little Princesses to come into the middle of the road and wave to the crowd. She looked so darn cute in her pretty dress, sneakers and day glo green sunglasses waving her royal wave to her "admirerers". She needed his hand to find her way back to us, but she was enjoying her moment. This vision alone was worth the money invested in our trip. I can still se her little face all lit up with joy. princess:

i think my favorite Disney memory didn't happen there...my 26 yr old daughter just showed me her Minnie Mehunne Character Breakfast Certificate she has kept for 20 yrs...she said she loved remembering how much fun we had everytime we went which makes the effort and time we spent skimping and saving to get there when they were kids worth it!

my next favorite one from actually being there was the first time we went and seeing the looks on the kids faces when they actually "knew" we were at MK as we walked up to the gates...kind of nervous but excited and then the looks on all of our faces ( mine too i'm sure) when we walked in and saw Main St with the castle at the end....we had never seen anything like it.

My 6 and 10 year old daughters walking through the Magic Kingdom holding Peter Pan's hand as he took us to ride Its a Small World after doing the Family Magic Tour...............I wasn't sure my 6 year old was ever going to let go but he was so dear with them! She just looked up at him the whole way through the ride and gave him three or four hugs when we had to end the tour. I think she will talk about that for a long time to come pixiedust:

My favorite memory also happens to be cliche'.
It happened on my first day in WDW, on my first trip ever.

My DS and I arrived in the World a bit late, after a hectic day of travel filled with mishaps. We arrived JUST in time to make our priority seating for dinner at the restaurant in our resort, Wilderness Lodge. After FINALLY being able to relax and begin enjoying, it was off to the Magic Kingdom, for what was then called "E Night". We took the boat over, and found our way up towards the park. Shortly after walking into the park, I decided to grab a park map, and orient myself with where we were, and where we were headed. As I held the map in front of me gazing very intently at it, I lost awareness of the fact that I continued to walk. Luckilly I did not squash any children (that I am aware of) :lmao: As I lowered the map,all that I saw was the Castle...it was like my own personal commercial. All that was missing was glowing lights, and music blaring louder as I gazed. The rest of the people around me (I am positive there were at least a few) vanished from my mind. This was all about the magic of Disney, and I didn't care that this 40-something man had tears in his eyes. I had finally felt and experienced the magic for myself that my Best Friend in the world had always tried in vain to fully describe to me. The moment was perfect, nothing could ruin it, nothing could spoil itThen I tried to share it with my Son......his reply? "Yeah, it's ok" :confused3

I've only been to WDW twice, but the first time I went I had quite a memorable experience. It was during the 20th Anniversary celebrations so quite a while ago (I was about 9 and I'm 2 months away from 23) Anyway, there was some sort of show around the middle of the day on the stage in front of the castle. My family and I (Dad, Mom and Brother(11)) got a spot to watch and my mom brother and I were apporached by someone and were asked if we thought my dad would want to be part of the show. I know now how rare such an opportunity must have been, but I was a really shy kid and knew that I wouldn't want to do it in a million years so...I cried and said I didn't want him to do it. (I did a lot of crying on that trip...I was scared of everything!! Well, everything involving boats and fire...I cried on the Jungle Cruise for heaven's sake!)

Anyway, my dad got up there and danced and whatnot and got a T-Shirt that says something like "I was surprised at Walt Disney World" and a baseball hat with a big stuffed Roget Rabbitt on top.

My other trip was great too cause it was with 3 friends on Spring Break in grade 12...lots of fun!!

I had grown up watching Walt's show on TV and wishing I could go but knowing we never would. I grew up and got married. When our children were old enough we saved and saved and took them to WDW. My most memorable experience was when we walked onto Main Street and I saw the street with the Castle at the end and the flowers and the beautiful landscaping. I had a feeling of a childhood dream come true.

My favorite memory is of a trip that I didn't even get to go on. Last year, my Dad took his brother to WDW for his first trip ever (My uncle's first trip). My Uncle had the time of his life and I had the time of my life when they got home and I got to see it in his face when he talked about it. It was amazing!!!

I could write a book of wonderful WDW memories, but the first one that pops into my head is, being with my 13 year old niece during her first WDW trip and watching while she danced with Pooh to the music of the British Invasion at Epcot. It was so spontaneous and sweet! ;)

I have only been once to disney last May. I have so many great memories so let me share a few of them with you . I believe the first one was when we entered the mk and the first character danced with my daughter I cried. Then when Pinnochio started trying to use my daughter's pigtails as strings and was trying to control her. Then Gepetto was shaking his head no and then the two of them or all three of them got all tangled I was laughing so hard. Another one was when my daughter was all dressed up to go to crt breakie and when we got on the bus at the resort everyone started cheering and waving and saying goodmorning princess. After breakie when we went to get inline to meet other characters at toontown a man said can I have your autograph princess, she was too shy. He told her she should be in the princess room. THe last one was when we were waiting for spectro to start my daughter went to use the hula hoop. She was quited a show off and she started rolling it around her neck and the crowd went wild cheering! THen they wanted her to go up again so they came to get her and she did it on her arm and again the crowd went wild . I was so proud. I am sure there are more but those come to mind. Oh how about one more after the family magic tour we went to see mickey's philharmagic and just being in a special line and having Peter Pan entertain us with stories was great . My daugher skipping thru mk with Wendy and lastly her sittng btw the two of them at the show. THat was our last day there and what an awesome way to end !
Sorry about rambling but I am sure you can tell we had a lot of magical moments but those stick out in my mind the most.

My favorite memory was when I was 5 ... in 1965 at Disneyland. I remember a snack machine fashioned after a runaway mine train. The Fritos would scoot down the shoot, back and forth and then out. I loved Fritos since then.

I love this kind of thread. So many fantastic memories come to me. Here's one: :coffee:

We were visiting a couple of years ago. This was right after Wishes had staretd its run. We (me, DW, DD- then 6, DS -then 4) had planned to get out of the park before the fireworks started but we were just having too much fun. We found ourselves in a deserted Fantasyland as it was time for Wishes. Knowing we had no time to get out of the park ahead of the crowds, we decided to ride Dumbo. I will NEVER forget the glorious feeling of riding Dumbo with DD as the fireworks were popping and the Wishes sountrack played. DW and DS were having their own memorable moment in the elephant right behind ours. The light rush of air thru my hair... the TEARS of joy in DD's eyes as she soaked in the moment... the sound... the bright fireworks. That was a moment I will hold on to for a lifetime. Absolute magic. pixiedust:

First trip to Disney, DD was 3. The look of amazement on her face when she saw the first princess (Idon't even remember what one it was). But it made the whole trip worth it. She is now 10 getting ready for trip 9 or 10 this summer, and still gets the same smile on her face meeting the princesses.

One of my recent favorites was getting to see my 84-year-old dad selected as Veteran of the Day at MK this past November. He participated in the Flag Retreat ceremony marching in with the Color Guard, stood at attention while the flag was lowered, then given the flag to carry after it was folded for the recessional. He marched right in step, stood straight and tall, and even gave a snappy salute. I told him his old drill instructor would have been proud of him. It was a very special moment for our entire family. :goodvibes

Our last day at WDW my 4 year old DGD started crying first thing in the morning because we were leaving. We decided to spend a few hours at MGM before leaving for our flight. When we got to the ticket machine, she was still whiny. When I put in ticket in I told the gentleman there that she was a bit cranky because we were leaving. With that he asked her name and then told her she needed to stand behind the gate beside the machine. My son put her down, not knowing for sure what was going on. The ticket taker then announced in a very loud voice, "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Princess Fields is now entering the park" and with a flourish and a deep bow he opened the gate to let her through. I will never forget the smile on her face as she walked through. It saved our whole day!!! :thumbsup2

One of my favorites is DD's first encounter with a Disney character, when she was 2. She was a very shy little girl and we did not know if she would even look at the characters, never mind interact with them. The first characters we saw were Chip and Dale. We took DD out of her stroller, and Chip went down on one knee and held out his arms. DD had the biggest smile on her little face and she ran to him and hugged him like he was a long-lost old friend. Chip and Dale played with her for a long time and she was fine with all of the characters after that. It still brings tears to my eyes and this was 6 years ago!

I have a few:

1. The look on my DD's face the first time she saw Mickey. Her eyes were wide and she looked up at me with this "Wow, he is real" look on her face

2. On a few occassions I've been "stolen" by Tigger. Once we went down a path at AK and the other around the corner to "make out" at Toontown. Since Tigger is my favorite I'm always trying to find him and hoping that something magical will happen.

3.This one is my husbands- we went to MGM on the Sunday of the marathon this year. I went over to get the locker and Hercules, Meg, Kim Possible, Ron, Mulan and others were out. So we got DD's pic with Kim and Ron and then went over to Hercules and Meg. While we were talking to them Herc noticed my DD had a Meg pin on her lanyard. So we took and picture. Then Herc asked if she had an autograph book. So I was getting it out and over came the CM character babysitter saying that they weren't doing autographs right now. (They were actually there to cheer on the runners) And she wasn't that nice about it either. Well, Herc looked at her and said "We're signing her book because she has a Meg pin". :thumbsup2 The CM just walked away. My DH loved it!! We came home and he kept telling everyone the story.

I could write a book about all the great memories!
