Favorite Mascara

I don't use expensive mascara, but I've been using Maybelline Rocket Mascara and Avon Super Shock and I like them both. I use the tip of the wand to do my lashes so they don't clump until like the 5th coat. :rotfl:

I LOVE Tarte's Lights Camera Lashes (or Lights Camera Splashes- the waterproof version). I have sensitive eyes and wear contacts and this is the only mascara brand that doesn't make my eyes burn. It can be a little clumpy, but the fact that it is non-irritating more than makes up for it.

Maybelline Lash Discovery. It has a mini brush that I really like.

Mascara hack - once it starts getting clumpy just add some sterile saline solution. I use my contact solution. Works wonders!!

Another vote for Blinc. I find that on me, it looks better when I remember to curl my lashes first. Otherwise, not so pretty looking.

MAC Extended Play mascara ($17) is my current favorite...I really like the brush (which is more like a comb) on their Studio Sculpt mascara ($17) but the mascara itself couldn't go all day without smudging, so that was disappointing. Also have used their False Lashes mascara ($22) and liked it, but I think I like the smaller, more comb-like brushes better.

Also have tried Benefits They're Real ($23) and liked it, but currently like the MAC options better...and they're a bit cheaper.

whatever is cheap. Mascara needs to be replaced every 2-3 months anyway, and there is not much point in spending too much on it. I have used a lot of different types, right now using Rimmel b/c it was 3.99 and I needed some.:thumbsup2 Now eyeliner, that's a different story....:rotfl:

Makeup Forever Smoky Extravagant is my favorite. And Sephora gives you a small version for free on your birthday :thumbsup2

Those of you who use the Younique 3D Fiber lashes - a few questions:

1. Was there a learning curve when you did the application initially? Some said it can come out SUPER clumpy.

2. Any issues with the fibers getting in your contacts if you wear them?

3. Any issues with flaking or fibers falling on your cheek during the day? I know this is not a cheap mascara, but this is the reason I avoid the cheap ones. I'd think with the loose fibers, it may be susceptible to it.

Thanks!

There is a small learning curve on how to apply it b/c you don't just glob it on like regular mascara. Some people put their regular mascara on first then the 3D mascara (that's how the instructions say) but I have found as well as other presenters that if you only do just the 3D mascara it comes out with hardly any clumps.

2. Any issues with the fibers getting in your contacts if you wear them?
I wear contacts and was to the point I couoldn't wear any mascara b/c it would aggravate my eyes so much. My cousin was selling the mascara so I tried it. I couldn't believe that I could wear it for a full day without having any problems with my eyes! It's hypoallergenic and I've had multiple customers with contacts that say the same thing.

3. Any issues with flaking or fibers falling on your cheek during the day? I know this is not a cheap mascara, but this is the reason I avoid the cheap ones. I'd think with the loose fibers, it may be susceptible to it.
With teh 3D mascara you put the gel on first then the fibers on the mid to the tip of your lashes and don't go to your waterline. After you do the fibers you seal the fibers in with another coat of gel. This sealing makes the fibers stay in place. If you cover your lashes with the gel then the fibers shouldn't fall off.

If you have any questions about it please let me know b/c I'll be happy to help and give you any tips or tricks with it if you decide to buy. I keep some in stock at all times so I can quickly ship out to my customers.

Thanks!

I've tried numerous drug store brands and my favorite is Bombshell by Cover Girl. It does a great job at making my lashes look longer and fuller. It stays on all day long. FYI...you need makeup remover to get it off.

I own tons of mascara...bit of an addict so here are some of my faves.

Tarte - Lights, Camera Lashes
Guerlain - Noir G, my most expensive one
Urban Decay - Perversion - has a huge, fluffy brush
Bare Mineral - Flawless Definition, brush is just right for bottom lashes
Ulta - any of the store brand, good stuff

I love Clinique Lash Doubling mascara - it's not waterproof but that just makes it easier to get off. It really makes my lashes look longer and lasts all day. I kept seeing makeup artists on tv say that Great Lash was the best and most economical but every time I've tried it my lashes just clump together.

Younique!!! I don't sell it and I was a hard sell to try it. Now that I have I abosultely love it. My lashes are a very light color and not that long. The Younique really makes them visible. I have tried the double extend ones and yes, they work, but no where near like the fiber lashes do! My 14yo daughter uses it also. The downside is that it's $29 a tube. I am sucked in though and there is no going back lol

Another vote for Clinique High Impact waterproof! Tried too many mascaras in my lifetime lol, from high end to low end. This one gets my stamp! :thumbsup2

On the budget end, I use Wet n Wild megalength waterproof (purple tube). It lasts all day, no clumping and comes off easily with makeup remover.
