Thank you so much, everyone! We have a daughter turning 13 just before our cruise and she is SO SAD that she can’t go in the clubs with her little sister (it looks like she can do open house time but I’m guessing that will be crazy busy?) She’s not interested in Edge because she’s shy and will have to go alone and she’s not interested in video games or electronics or movies the older kids like, etc. She’d be happier with story time and crafts and classic animated movies and making cookies...
Diaper dash, etc. all sound great - she’ll love it!! Thank you again for your replies.
ETA: we’re going to try and coax/force her into Edge the first night to see if she can make some friends.

if your cruise group is active see if she can e-meet some kids ahead of time. My older daughter (9) has had pen pals for our longer cruises and it really helped her find someone to play with.
I know it’s been mentioned before but we really like the family trivia games and things that happen during day on sea days together.
Your daughter sounds a lot like mine. She is the same age, also shy. She does not like Edge because she says everyone hangs out together in groups—I tell her that’s because they probably went to Icebreakers the first night, which she refuses to go to! I think I’m going to force her on the next cruise.ETA: we’re going to try and coax/force her into Edge the first night to see if she can make some friends.![]()
Definitely get them to go the first night. My kids ages means they are always in 2 different clubs and one is more outgoing than the other. Kid's clubs are great but even if your child doesn't have fun in them there's just so much else to do! One of my kids lives in the club and the other one just likes the freedom of wandering and grabbing a pizza and doing things. Even with that, she always makes friends around the pool or just watching a movie.. playing a trivia game.. playing midship detective... anything!Thank you so much, everyone!
