Hi we are at HH and would love to hear what your best restaurants are. So far we are planning on trying Hugo's steakhouse because our son is called Hugo!

Looking forward to tips!

We just returned from a non DVC stay a week ago. Try Lowcountry Backyard. We loved it! You need to get there right when they open to avoid a long wait. But it's well worth it. Cooked to order meals, true Lowcountry cuisine.

We enjoyed Scott's Seafood and San Miguel's at Shelter Cove as well.

We enjoy sea food, and we very much enjoy Sea Shack! In May, we had a 5 night HHI stay, ate there 5 times!

This was on my "must visit" list and we never made it. Now I regret it even more!

Another vote for the Sea Shack. I don't even LIKE sea food and I liked it.

Pazzo, a walk across the highway from the resort, we do enjoy. Make reservations!

"It's Greek to Me" a Greek restaurant near the Sea Shack, I have been told is good, but, I haven't been yet. Hope to correct that soon.

Bella Italia, in the Sam's shopping center, we also enjoyed allot! Our waiter "Napoleon" was very knowledgeable and treated us quite well.

Another vote for the Sea Shack. Just understand that that one's VERY casual. We also enjoy Kenny B's, Skull Creek Boathouse, Black Marlin, British Open Pub, and Pino Gelato in Wexford Village (how can you NOT love gelato!)
"It's Greek to Me" was very good when we were there, but it's been a few years. For Mediterranean food, we enjoyed Mediterranean Harbour in Shelter Cove.

Santa Fe Cafe is my current favorite. I love Frankie Bones when I'm in the mood for lobster mac and cheese.

But there are a lot of good options.

If I had to pick one, Skull Creek Boathouse!!!
(But we are skipping this one to try Poseidon in a few weeks. I hope I don't regret it.)

We also enjoy Sea Shack and Alexander's.

San Miguel's is very good and close to the Disney resort. Old Oyster Factory is also very good.
There are a lot of very good restaurants on Hilton Head.

Please post a review of Poseidon. We've never gone there, but hoping to get around to it on our next trip.

We were not fans of the Mexican place across the marina from the resort. They nickle & dimed for extra sour cream etc. It has been awhile since we went but we liked Alexander's, One Hot Mama's (wings), Low Country Backyard & Truffles Cafe.

Skull Creek Boathouse
Sea Shack
Old Oyster Factory
Salty Dog
San Miguels
Definitely want to try Poseidon & Hudsons next time
Pino Gelato for ice cream
So many too choose from!!

Ah, yes-Pino Gelato. Nutella gelato-need I say more?! And on the days when they're all out, there are plenty of good substitute flavors.

So many good to great places, but here are our choices:
1) Skull Creek Boathouse--can get crowded but the seafood throwdown is the best boil we've had in our three visits to HHI.
2) Hudson's on the Dock--local hang out that was excellent our first time, though only average our second trip
3) Alexanders--near Marriott and was a very pleasant surprise; excellent food and service (good wine list, too)
And our top choice:
**OMBRA Cucina--Always ranking in the top few restaurants on HHI, it's one of the best Italian restaurants at which we've ever dined. Reservations recommended. Chef Michael puts out exceptional food, and the service is exemplary. Topnotch wine list, as well. Exceptional experience.
