As we all know 09/11/01 changed many things. One of those things was attendance to the WDW parks. Attendance was so bad for so many months (couple of years even) that the parks had to re-assess their shows/parades.

The shows I miss the most are Tapestry of Nations (Dreams?) and a show in the plaza of the Italian Pavillion (I forget the name but it involved elaborately costumed women representing the five elements with ball masks --- it was absolutely fabulous! ..... Masquerade???).

We bought the Tapestry CD and I play it on occasion. I can still see the huge drum rolling by with drummers on platforms on each side of it and the giant marionettes in my mind's eye when i listen to it.

I hope these two wonderful shows are brought back some day!!

:moped: ciao!

Me too! One of the most memorable moments of our first family trip is of our boys interacting with the Tapestry of Dreams puppets. Luckily we got some of it on video. I sure wish they would bring it back. I even e mailed Disney about it not long after it went away. They did reply and said that they would have a new parade in 2005 or 2006. I haven't heard anything about one yet, but I sure hope it comes soon, and is as captivating as ToD.

We too have the CD and listen to it often.:cloud9:

You know.....you would think that Epcot would have SOME kind of a parade back in place....every other park has one and it's just strange that Epcot has gone without one for this long. :confused3

We love Epcot. The entertainment offered there is one of our favorite things about our trips. We do miss Tapestry of Nations, but I have to say my favorite all-time show is Illuminations - the current one if fantastic. We enjoy the entertainment @ World Showcase. I know what show you're referring to in Italy - that was a good one. We like the chinese acrobats. Those kids are so adorable and amazing. We never miss the mariachi (spelling may be wrong there...sorry) band in Mexico. Oh, and I love the Living Statues. And the candy art lady in Japan. Sounds to me like I love it all! I do!

Sadly, the Living Satues are no longer at Epcot. I am so sad about this, and even started a thread a while back to encourage people to contact Disney in an attempt to bring them back, but no can do...they now appear at Bucsh Gardens according to a fellow DISer.
